This is part of the National Council of Corvette Clubs southeast autocross series. At this race, there are a series of 14 events, 2 runs per event. Registration is $75 for all events or $7 per event. Registration opens at 8:30a and closes at the start of the 2nd run of each event. Driver's meeting at 9:30a and the runs start after that. Exhaust must be closed.

Lunch will be provided Saturday and Sunday in lieu of awards. Governors of this event are the Town and Country Corvette club from Harvest, Corvette Atlanta, and Miracle Strip Corvette Club from Pace, FL.

These are some of the most race-prepared Corvettes you will ever get to see up close and personal, so come out and feel the power hitting the pavement.

The Vettes returned to a much colder race course than last month, and one that was much longer. The faster times broke the one minute mark, but that's almost double the run times of the much quicker course last month.

And because of the cold weather, traction was an ever-present issue for the drivers, finding more slide than grip in most corners on the course. Still, there were some impressive times and speeds that were reached at the old airport.

This is the second to last event in the national autocross series with only one remaining event in Florida before the series is finished. Many cars from Saturday did not return Sunday. I believe many were settled in their positions in the series and decided that one more tiring day in the cold wasn't worth it. Since the cold froze my hands through my gloves, I wholeheartedly agree with this course of action.

It was good to see the local Corvette groups coming out in force to help work the course. They were braving the cold just as I was. I had my car nearby in which I would defrost my hands every hour. I readily accepted a bowl of stew with some guilt after finding out the stew emptied before most drivers could get a second helping.

With the dreary overcast day, I decided to try a different angle on the photos, and to not shoot video since there was plenty from last time. The goal was to create shots that would look good on a framed canvas sized poster. I think I achieved that goal. Incidentally, these shots can be ordered on canvas sized posters. And any proceeds from these items help fund this site.

I hope all of the drivers enjoyed their time in Huntsville, and I look forward to seeing you all again next year. Happy Holidays!
