The day was almost perfect for some dyno runs. Not terribly hot to skew numbers to the low side, and not too cold to skew them to the high side. I didn't arrive as early as I wanted due to some memory card problems, so I missed some of the first runs of the day.
On my way over, I saw some interesting cars--enthusiasts were definitely out taking advantage of the day, even if it was just running some errands.
It was a really strong turnout for the dyno day with a total of 17 cars dyno'd. The numbers ranged from just above 100hp to over 500hp, and there was a little bit of everything--from import to exotic, old muscle to new muscle--you name it, it was there.
There were even some nice cars that just passed by on the street. Bama Mopars did some great work putting this together, just like they do at their monthly cruise-in.
I predominantly shot video of each of the runs, but towards the end I ran out of battery power when I discovered that my second battery wasn't charged like I thought it was. So I milked what I could out of the first one, getting at least one run of everyone.
And I also took pictures, including shots of the Huntsville Car Scene stickers on many of the cars. Get your
sticker or vinyl cling
today and help support the site!
zl427 (Henry) was the last to dyno his car and invited me to join him for lunch since he had some time to kill before heading to Cafe 302. It was his first time heading out to 302 and I wanted to join everyone going tonight, but I needed to get back home and catch up on work. I want to thank Henry for the meal and the conversation--it's always great to get away and just socialize.
See everyone next time! -- Samir
