It would be a neat concept, but I don't think people in this area particularly care since there's probably some deep-rooted resentment about the economy and the last world war. But the thing I tell myself is--Japan came back from two atomic bombs to be one of the economic superpowers of the world. They'll be fine. And if they need our help, they'll let us know. Besides, the world saw that happened at Katrina, so I'm sure our credibility is a bit shot. I know I wouldn't be reaching out to the country that couldn't help their own.
