Ken Block At It Again...

I heard about this video this weekend and saw a link posted on the NAVWC email list. Enjoy. :)

I wonder if he had to pay for the track damage like he would have had to at Barber. Judging by the view counts, looks like his sponsors are getting their money's worth.

:eek:thats some great driving!!

The hardest part was probably that one cone on the embankment. Making a smooth circle with all of that elevation working against you...

Mediarocker October 4th 10:06 PM

Oh yeah. Hells yeah. I saw this on the Mazda3 forums.. I just.. wow. At a loss of words. I only wish I could do this sometime.

Sad that I don't have a RWD Car... I only wish my Axela was a RWD...

Hmmm.... Got my gears turning. LOL

You can always go out and watch. :) Besides, it's not as easy as it looks. Taking what you have autocrossing will teach you the basics of car control that you need to make a car do this.

Mediarocker October 6th 01:39 AM

Yeah, I'm gonna start doing some AutoX.

I want to learn to drift.. i think doing a Gymkhana would be tops though. *drool*

Samir October 6th 07:07 AM

Car control is the basis behind drifting since it requires the ability to toss a car on the edge of control and beyond and back. And autocross will teach you a lot of car control. Some of our areas best drifters are also the best autocrossers.

:dons flame suit:

Ken Block has done for the sport of Gymkhana(what he call's gymkhana and what is are completely different) is the same thing F&F did for the import scene. Ken Block is no that talented, and while a lot of those stunts would be difficult to pull off, anyone with his budget could likely do it in the number of tries it took him.

Anyone who watches WRC or kept up with USRC would know this.

I'm pretty sure we all know this. Doesn't stop the video from being impressive.

I'm not really a Ken Block fan. He's got a good publicist. DC Shoe.

I'm a Colin McRae fan anyway :D

Nah, alot of us have control. And standards. :p

Erv November 8th 12:41 AM

funny thing about mcrae, is he wrecked more than block but people still love him. His wrecks were biggerer and badderer, though so maybe that is why.

I think its because you know he was pushing the car. He asked it to do what wasn't possible... and people respect that.

Erv November 8th 12:59 AM

the thing that made mcrae famous was driving in the rain

It's because of the Terms of Service agreement for Huntsville Car Scene. :D Check out section 5, particularly 5.e.

This place was built ground-up to be the friendiest place on the net for enthusiasts from our area. :)

Erv November 8th 11:21 AM

no offense to you Samir, but, does anyone actually read those? I know I never have
