last thing i looked at through RockAuto had a great price, but shipping was ridiculous. the shipping was was more than the parts, and that was UPS ground. by the time it was said and done, they were only slightly cheaper than buying local.

not bashing, just stating my experience.

Having experience with auto parts distribution, I can say that the part can play a big factor in the shipping. UPS has minimums so smaller items will have shipping costs higher than some parts.

Local parts purchasing used to be my preferred method. But after paying more for a local part at Landers than one that would have been shipped to me, I'm going to seriously reconsider that. Especially since Landers is the only game in town now.

$209 worth of parts cost $219 to ship.....
i bought the same parts locally for $7 more total.

Those had to be some difficult to ship parts. Even overnighting a radiator via UPS wasn't that much for me.

not really. the heaviest item was a front bumper, but i literally shipped a 6 speed trans from a STi for cheaper...

Ahh, that's when they start charging volumetric rates, which start getting crazy. We looked at shipping a quarter panel for our delivery truck and it was as much as the panel itself.

You are correct. Unfortunately, some body parts can be quite expensive to ship. Although some parts may not be heavy, over-sized package rates can be quite expensive. Many body parts have to ship on a freight truck just due to their size.

Once your zip code has been entered into our system shipping quotes will be updated as you add parts. This way, as you're building your order, you'll always know the full delivered cost -- before you've entered your credit card number or any other personal information.
