Arab Classics and Customs Cruise-In

supposed to set this reminder up to repeat
on the 4th Saturday of each month.

they need a bigger area to do this, seems like i has a nice crowd attending
i just hate parking on the grass and getting ickey stuff inside the cars
not to mention sets wife's asthma off... not a good thing

was that diner/cafe open too?

was nice when we stopped by there last summer, nice little drive from Huntsville
just need some bathrooms near by, she felt a little wierd going into that BBQ place since she wasn't eating in there

The diner is only open until 5-10 AM, it's just a place for breakfast. The bbq place and it's owners are actually the ones who sponsor it, and they own both buildings so there shouldnt be a problem going into the bathrooms.
They used to do this over where Marvins and the Dollar Tree is now about 6 years back when the old Wal-Mart shut down. It was a lot bigger then.

I remember those days, but never got out to one of those. I can't imagine it being larger. That must have been awesome! So where does that remaining crowd go now? I'm sure they haven't vanished in thin air.

They used to take up the majority of that big parking lot up, I remember a lot of the cars that were there and I can't say I've actually ever seen them outside of those cruise-ins. I wonder if it was a lot of people from out of town that came to them or something.

i think most are spread out now
we'll be hitting the B-Ham area more on saturday nights
i forgot the area, but it's basically right off I65

Hanceville was also nice the one time we went last summer

I could see people coming from out of town back in those days. There weren't as many cruise-ins.

Birmingham has some really strong events, with 200-300 showing up for cruise-ins each weekend. Definitely a place to go to see variety.

Well, I showed up for a little while until it started to rain, I doubt i'll be back to anymore of them even if they are a few miles from my house. Seems like the people there don't like anything that's newer to show up. It's the 3rd time somebody has said something smart to me about my car. Somebody told me that this wasn't the parking lot for the BBQ place and I needed to move out of the show space. I'll stick with the providence meets.

What are you driving? You are always welcome to the Decatur Steak n Shake. It is open to all special rides (if it is special to you, it is special to us!). Big parking lot and we will not ask you to move.

We also arrived just 10 minutes before the rain. We were in the 1955 Ford F-100, Aqua color. But when it started to rain we went in to eat and the rain was letting up as we were coming out. It was a nice drive to and from. Marsha

we didn't go out because of the rain
was just getting ready and looked at the weather, saw the big storm coming from TN, and then WHAM... over the house/area it came
i'm grateful for the rain... but just give us one or two more nice weekends before the fall of no rain or move it to the drought areas

sorry to hear what happened
we've had that happen numerous times to us in the past
and remember when we didn't have the car painted, not on person talked or looked at us, boy that changed once it was painted
that's also another reason we don't go around taking photos too, for one i don't want to invade anyone's privacy/space/etc, two some people are very particular about it too, that's why if we did take any, we always asked out of respect, but again it was because people harped on us. there are just some rude and mean people in the world. sometimes the best way to handle it is just let it pass, let them think/realize they are better then you, or just get away
to us, shows/events/cruise-ins/races should be about variety

maybe try some of the other events, like the one in Fultondale or Shoals
also there is the event at Hunstville drag strip next Saturday
show and or race
how cool is that
