I completly agree that a Sound-Off is not the place ofr Baby's. But a car show is more than fine, as long as it is a civilized car show. My little girl is 8 months old, so she is fine at shows. I dont agree with bringing them to shows when they are really young, but to each thier own. In the case of Sonic, I was sitting on the back of a buddy's tailgate, and some V8 guy rolls by and revs his engine, so then like 3 other folks were sitting right beside me with my little girl in my hands, and diliberatly revs there LOUD V8's Back at the person. All the Exhaust and fumes, and dust was blown around and onto my little girl. I understand that some folks probably dont pay attention. I was not mad at the person for doing it, cause clearly they did not see us. But enough of that. No hard feelings on my part.lol Car shows are Family oriented events, if I was to wait until my little girl was 5-6 to take her to a show. She might not be into cars then and I would be stuck with a GIRLY GIRL, nothing wrong with that, I just dont want her to be all stuck up and stuff.lol

not saying to not bring your child.

car shows are very much family events.

just need to be prepaired for what happens at such events...

earplugs come to mind....

our son is 10 and loves cars but dont like the sound. he has very sentive ears. when we go to car/truck events we always take earplugs for him.

afterall, you take a towel to the pool...

NO we are not to old just don't like to hear one person over here rev it up then some has to try and out do them then so on and so on. Cause it never fails you start with one idiot (myself included sometimes) and they all fall in line one after the other.

speaking of loud noises at car shows - does anybody ever find the music that they play on the P.A. systems at some car shows annoying? the one i'm thinking of in particular is Cafe 302. it seemed louder than usual last time, and in some areas it was difficult to carry on a conversation because it was so loud.

It's difficult to try to have background music all over an event without having some loud spots. I think 302's setup is actually one of the best with those speakers high in the air.

cool shot.

and of course your dog can come if it sits right there in front of you .

like at DQ the other day, there was a lady with a bulldog. the dog was on a leash and was not a problem. i believe it all boils down to behavior. kids, dogs, drivers, whatever.
well behaved is the key.

old people / handicapped access to car shows?

Posted this elsewhere but maybe this is the more appropriate place to post...

Quick question for you ladies and gentlemen. I have an elderly father who I love to take to car shows. Problem is that he really doesn't have the ability to walk all around them. Too proud to get a handicapped sticker. Do car shows generally allow people to "do a drive through" for someone elderly who can just sit in the car and ride through the car shows or not. I've even thought about buying a cheap golf cart to ride him through the shows with, but I don't know if that's allowable either. IDEALLY, I'd just like to be able to drive through the show and let him look at the cars from the comfort of my car.

Thoughts? Ideas?

I have found that dogs are more obedient and controlable than most kids. ☺

While true, kids don't have a tendency to urinate or drop feces when they feel like it.
