New Here!
New to HCS, and relatively new to the area. Arrived as part of the BRAC move, from Washington DC and happy to escape the rat race there. Spending most of my time restoring my 65 GTO convertible, sort of a resto-mod approach. 4 wheel discs, tubular upper and lower control arms front and rear, all body bushings replaced, ceramic headers, a later model 400 modded to look like the old 389, tripower, and American Torq-Thrust D's Also have a fairly original, low mile 87 Grand National with a few minor mods... need to sell. I am planning to buy back my 67 GTO convertible that is back in VA.
Other than that, divorced, work for the Army at Redstone, 39 years last May. Two sons, one at Auburn, the other at Universal Technical Institute in NC. Live in New Market, and hope to get the rides out cruising soon. Just came back from Reno Monday after attending Hot August nights, around 14,000 cars participate, all 1972 or older. I will be going back again and again... Hope to find time to participate in the forums, offer help and opinions. I have been working on cars since I was 14! |

Welcome to the scene! That sounds like a really nice GTO and Grand National. Definitely post some pictures! And feel free to post the Grand National for sale here as well.
The New Market area has a really nice cruise-in each month at Cafe 302, so you won't want to miss that if you haven't already bumped into it. A really good friend of mine went to UTI in NC before becoming a Ferrari, Aston Martin, Porsche, Maserati, GM, and Toyota certified ASE mechanic. Your boys are both in great schools.Reno sounded like a blast. I've been to SEMA for the last two years and the local Ardmore Car Show that's already more cars than I can handle. 14,000 would be unreal. How many days did it take to see them all? ![]() Thank you for the offer for help and advice! You'll find members on here from teenagers to people older than yourself, so I'm sure your wisdom will help many. ![]() Feel free to add more to your intro thread: http://www.huntsvillecarscene.com/announcement.php?f=68

Welcome
Looking forward to some pictures,
or seeing you out at the local shows. Saw a 65 Goat twist its frame once back when I was in high school and we had some wide open street racing. |
