CAMS, the Central Alabama Miata Society, invites all Mazda Manics to join us at Magic City Mazda Mania, an exciting, fun-filled, one day event on Saturday, May 28, 2005 in and around Birmingham, Alabama.

The day's activities will begin at 9:00am at Med Center Mazda, www.medcentermazda.com, Alabama's largest and premier Mazda dealer, located just off I-65 South and Highway 119, Exit 246, in Pelham, AL.

Following a light breakfast, get acquainted time, registration and issue of goodie bags and instructions for the day, attendees will be led on a small group drive to Barber Motorsports Park, www.barbermotorsports.com, one of the newest and highly acclaimed road race facilities in North America. At Barber's, precluding any unforeseen circumstances, drivers will have the opportunity to drive the Track under controlled conditions for a nominal fee of $10.00. At the conclusion of the controlled drive, you will visit and tour the Barber Vintage Motorsports Museum, recognized as having one of the finest collections of motorcycles in the world, www.barbermuseum.org. We also hope to have some pictures made of each car on the track.

Following the Museum tour, its back to Med Center Mazda, again in small groups, for a Show and Not -So- Shine Car Show (no you won't have a need to wash your car for this show).

After the car show it will be time for more fun in the form of a Poker Run through the country-side, south and east of Birmingham (maps will be issued at Registration just in case you become orientationally challenged), arriving in downtown Birmingham at Vulcan Park, home of Birmingham's Roman God of the Forge, Vulcan, www.vulcanpark.org.

Then it's off to Ted's Garage, www.tedsgarage.org, one of Birmingham's exciting party places, especially if you are a gearhead, for an event -filled evening beginning with cocktails (cash bar), dinner (BBQ style), door prizes and awards.

If you are coming from out of town and want room accommodations for either Friday and/or Saturday night, CAMS has contacted the Ramada Inn, just adjacent to Med Center Mazda. Their telephone number is (205) 987-0444. Make sure you reference the Magic City Mazda Mania event. Also, if you will be arriving Friday night, CAMS invites you to join us for a pay-your-own dinner in the area, just a get acquainted time. If you want to be included, contact George Brengelman at telephone number (205) 661-9897, or ch47insp@charter.net, for details.
