Huntsville Car Scene 1st Annual Trunk or Treat Cruise-In?

So I was just seeing some Halloween related stuff and I started thinking how a lot of organizations have a 'trunk or treat' to keep their kids from having to go all around the neighborhood, and it hit me--why not combine a cruise-in with a trunk or treat?

So everyone would bring their cars like for a cruise-in, but also candy to hand out. We then invite churches, neighborhood associations, apartment complexes, and the general public to come trunk or treat with us.

Thoughts?

I like the thought. Most of the larger churches already have something similar. I would think it would be more effective to team up with one of them instead of trying to do our own. Maybe one of the churches that hosts some of the car shows throughout the year, or one that's near some of the larger neighborhoods?

I HATE my neighborhood on Halloween night. I will be taking the girls to the mall on Sat. night for the mall trick or treat and then we'll hit the Jones Valley neighborhood on Sunday, Halloween night.

Good thinking. I know only a few churches off the top of my head from recent events, but a quick google search found all the event listings with the word church in it. There's a lot. I guess the next step would be a lot of phone calls. This would be a good idea for next year.

Trick or treat at the mall? That's new to me. Yeah, south Huntsville is where it's at. My parents' neighborhood in Athens is probably pretty nice too, but I've never been there on Halloween, lol.

Does anyone know when Huntsville is actually doing Trick or Treat this year since Halloween is on Sunday?

I might not bring my truck, but I would definately bring my daughter.

We are going Trick or Treating on Sunday. I don't see any reason to move to Saturday. Some people said because of church, but we wouldn't move ThanksGiving or Christmas if it fell on Sunday. Others say cause its a school night, but who stays out trick or treating till 10 o'clock at night anyway? Other than Teenagers, who aren't Trick or Treating regardless.

You know, if there's confusion on which night it's going to be, you can go both nights and double up.

I heard that they were having Trick or Treat night on Saturday night since Halloween falls on a Sunday this year. Best double check me, but I think this is accurate.
