Site Slowness? Database Error?

Has anyone experienced these? I've noticed a rash of database errors since we moved to a new host, but I don't know how it is affecting users since I've never experienced the problem myself. Any information would be helpful.

I tried to get to the forum last night and it reported a database error, so I surfed elsewhere. Also the random pics/vids on the splash page are hit-and-miss as to whether or not they are there...

Approximately what time was it when you get this error?

The random pics/vids module is going to have to be re-done. It's on the list.

Any other issues/problems that you've run across?

22:30=10:30pm? The only errors I'm showing were around 2:30p in the afternoon.

I found it. It was at 2:35p yesterday. You got two db errors.

This happened three days in a row for only a few minutes. The host discovered a configuration error on their db server after I brought up the problems. We shouldn't see db errors anymore. But let me know if you do.

It might be that their clock is off. That's good to know too.

I've seen times at 7pm and 12p as well. That means that these were at 3am and 8pm, respectively.

I'm hoping the host has it fixed. It's why I changed to a new company.

Yeah, the site visitor should never see any error messages. That was my point with the host when they told me that 'it's not an important error'. I don't care about any errors unless my visitors see it. This site was down long enough due to errors.

Samir, is there something you can do about the login times? I've found that if I am typing a message and have to go away for a minute or two, I come back to finish the message and post it and I'm logged out and have to rewrite my post if I don't copy it before attempting to post.

If you have cookies enabled and the "remember me" checkbox checked, you shouldn't have this problem.

If everything is set this way and you're still having problems, it would be related to the browser you're using and cookies. Your automatic re-login is kept in a cookie. The cookie takes 15 minutes to expire after the last activity (page viewed). Let me know if this helps.
