i can suggest you get a couple of certifications too
since they are mandated for many positions, like a security+ and a OS certification
especially if you know Linux/Oracle/solaris etc
companies like to see this, especially contracting companies that are required to have them
we just filled a position a while ago that might have fit your needs

Yes please! But it needs to be local, or at least less than like 50% travel. Even if he knows of someone if he's not working there anymore. What's your email address and I can fwd my resume, which has a link to my portfolio. Or you can pm me your email.....I don't know if pm is available on this forum or not. If they can get me a job, I'm taking you out for some steak lol

Welcome! I feel you on the job search. My fiance has an MBA and she can't even look without a security clearance. Most of the economy here is driven by government-related jobs, so it's the norm.

However, with your field you're in high demand. Graphics artists are needed all over the place for copywriting, layout, etc.--especially for new media like the web. Talk to G_Horneck on the site, he's a veteran of the graphic arts field and can probably give you a lot of pointers in getting work around here.

Hey, can you make banners like the ones here on HCS? If so, I'll start pointing new advertiser sign-ups your way for banner design. Online companies will do it for $20 a banner, but I'd rather that money stay local if it can.
