I won't be able to get back to you until tommorrow. The heat here took a lot out of me during the weekend, so I've had to take some naps to help me recover. Here's what I've got to do before I can get working on projects:
  • Process pictures and videos from the weekend - 3-4 hrs
  • Get caught up on correspondence (emails, etc) - depends on how many. 1hrs per 100.
When I get to correspondence I'll get back on vb.org and reply to everything as well as go into more details. Sorry if it's taking a bit of time, but as you can see I really do need help!

Well, when I meant hack, it's nothing major right now.

When I think of hack, I think of custom code and database modifications and queries. But the one hack I needed created right now is really simple. In fact, it's easy for me to show you what I need.

If you've studied my site, you can tell that I rely pretty heavily on the calendar. This is from the success of the calendar on the previous site, hsv.streetracing.org. The old site has a similar menu layout to this one. The calendar on the old site had small camera pictures next to events that had pictures. (See http://hsv.streetracing.org/events/308 for an example.) This made it easy for visitors to know what events had pictures. Well, you can't html code in the titles of events, so I can't add the code the way I used to on the old calendar. And I really don't want to have html enabled on event titles.

I use the Event Attendance hack. One of the things the hack adds is a small checkbox to the event entry page. When checked, Event Attendance is turned on for a particular event. I was thinking of a similar checkbox (and corresponding code/database table/db query) for a "event has pictures" or whatever box. When this box is checked, a small camera (or whatever graphic in in the proper path and name) will show beside the event title just as it did on the old site.

This isn't a hard hack to create. In fact, all it is, is borrowing code and changing it. But I don't have the time to test it bebug it and then install it. As of now, this is the most complicated thing to do on my to do list.
