This is somewhat of an update. I contemplated selling the car because I wanted to use the funds to rush this business, but I don't want to rush. The project is still on. The crank was cleaned up as was the rod and I looks as if I will be sticking with the 2.3 stroker setup instead of doing a 2.1 destroked hi rev setup. The turbo setup has changed as well and it looks like I will be using the same turbo that we have put on the black Supra. I think around the September/October range you guys will be seeing more updates on this. I want to finish up a few customer projects along with the r33. So keep an eye out for updates.

Got to do a little prep work to the block before it goes to the machine shop for a good deep cleaning and hone.
A little bit of grinding on the block to make sure that the girdle sits flush on the main caps. ![]() Block dirty as can be but getting ready to get clean. ![]() Girdle mocked up and will be ready to be torqued once it comes back from the machine shop. ![]() ![]() Crank and rods are back from the machine shop to make sure that they are still true. Planing on running with the Clevite 77's instead of the coated ACL race bearings. Once the block gets finished I will go back over every threaded hole and run a tap down them to make sure there are no imperfections. Then it will be time to reassemble the stroker pistons and the Eagle rods to put back in the block. |

So before I took the block to the machine shop I started looking at the skirts of my pistons. They had a little bit of wear on them. That typically means that they have made some contact with the cylinder walls. That of course is bad. Right now I need to verify the clearances to make sure they will be okay, but if it is even remotely questionable I will be getting rid of the 8.5:1 piston and bumping it up a little to probably a 9:1 piston. The math works out to where I should still be able to rev to my goal of 8500rpm's so I am okay with that. I just wonder if the grade of gas I have chosen is going to play well. I really don't want to go Q16 since I want it to be a "pump gas"/ e85 car. That and $86 for 5 gallons will get to you.

Unfortunately I have had to make a tough decision on this project and not proceed with it. I am some what upset that I cannot pursue this one, but we want to make BoostFab grow and unfortunately cannot justify the time to use this as a shop vehicle. The chassis is being sold to a good friend of mine who will have the time to enjoy it. We are still putting together the r33 car which I will be updating soon.
