Well the DIZZZM is about to be getting all brand new oem control arms, knuckles, hubs, subframe, and a ton more so the plan is to keep it a nice 500-600 awhp dd. It still has a/c and p/s so it is fully functional as a dd. That and when it comes to 4 doors people always want to ride. I don't like having people sitting behind me. We shall see when I graduate.

Cage or harness bar will deter that. "If I hit the brakes hard enough your head is smacking a steel pole. I don't think that's safe."

And if that fails just tell them "no."

That works too. That's when you just smile and hand them this and say "Here is your seat. Hop in!"

This is my plan. The DSM is my project, eventually will have a bolt-ons only evo as a daily. Or if evo prices don't start dropping to a more reasonable level (I am just not gonna pay 14-20 grand for a 150,000 mile vehicle even if its only 6 years old. Just not gonna happen) I might get an Audi A4 quattro or something similar. Mazdaspeed even.

Agreed, Evo's are nice but they aren't that nice. Would make a nice DD for when I have kids though lol. Well maybe I'll just go with a G37.

Lol, well I guess I can somewhat give it to you. This list is incomplete since I am trying to get everything else I need.

Engine
6 bolt 2.3 stroker
Eagle crank (balanced)
Eagle rods
JE pistons
Balance shafts eliminated
ARP main studs
I just put new ACL race bearings (mains and rods)
corrected the torque specs that some fool did.
Just put a new oil pan (not some dented used pos)
Looks like a cometic head gasket (will be replaced with an OEM MLS gasket)
ARP head studs (will be replaced with L19's)
7 bolt head port mached (going to be switching to a 6 bolt head and gasket match the ports)
Manley springs and retainers
Manley intake and exhaust valves
Comp 259 cams
AEM tru-time cam gears

Intake/intercooler/cooling:
Generic stainless intake pipe (that will be gone soon)
1g crushed bov
2.5" piping
Stock turbo throttle body
extrude hone intake manifold (going to be replaced by the intake manifolds that I make)
Mishimoto radiator
putting in a 170 thermostat this weekend
10" and 12" cooling slim fans

Turbo/fuel/exhaust
190lph pump (working on getting a fuel system together 400lph and 255 inline)
stock regulator (getting rid of that)
650cc fic's (switching to 1250cc's or possible 1650cc's)
stock rail (changing to an fic rail)
still on stock lines (going to -6 feed and return possible or stock return)
Borg Warner s200 with internal wastegate (going to external for a little while and then plan on changing to a precision billet dual ball bearing 6262 with twin tial 44mm mvr's
slowboy exhaust manifold (kinda sucks)
stock o2 (can't wait to get rid of that)
3" turbo back (going to be doing an aluminum catback shortly.

electronics
hks turbo timer
autometer pro boost gauge
aem wideband
ECMlink v2 (yeah, that shit will be gone soon so i can change to speed density)

I have a lot in store for this car. I will try to keep some threads up on my work and the progress the car makes.

I have found evo's cheaper than 14k.

All the ones I've seen for cheaper than 14 where either beat to $h&@, rediculosly high mileage (175++), ugly, stupidly modded, or broken. And combination of all of those things.

If I am gonna spend that kind of cash on a car its gotta be exactly what I want. Blue or Silver GSR or MR, preferably with SSL. Under 120k miles. No wrecks. No stupid mods (venting a bov on stock maf, big injectors on a stock flash, etc etc) And I'd really prefer as close to stock as possible. I just want to drive it for a couple years until I can build it the way I want it built.

The "stupid mods" are fairly easy to get around. Just do what I do and have a box beside the car and start throwing that crap in there lol.

With evo's you can actually vent on a stock maf. You will need to tune the decel portion of it. Evo's have made huge strides on stock ECU. I think the guys at MAP made just over 1k hp.

Its the same way with a DSM Ecu, at least a 2g. A couple of people have made 800-1000 on link, mind your not the average dsmer. But I don't see buying an AEM or haltech unless you just want it, because the difference is smaller now.

I personally don't want to deal with a stupid modded car again. I had nightmares with the 16g on this car for like 3 months, overheating when parked. Come to find out its because the guy couldn't pay a couple extra bucks for new water lines and banjo fittings. I spent 3 months looking for the issue. Melted a stock fan because of it and had to buy a slim fan.

Over a 8$ banjo bolt fitting, and about 3$ worth of high temp heatercore hose. This was back when 16gs were only about 599$ brand spanking new. And I have the receipt for it. He spent 650$ for a 16g with a ported compressor cover, and then skimped on 20-30$ worth install stuff. That is the stuff that gets me.

Sorry to rant.

Ditto here.

You guys are adults and know the rules. I shouldn't have to babysit.

I hear ya man. I have seen many of cars like this. Sometimes its fun buying modded cars because you actually learn things fixing other peoples mistakes. You start to notice the little things. I some what love to get them, but yes I will be cussing up and down and calling the previous owner a few different names lol.

Yes I do realize that. But they say the best way to make a kid grow up is to treat them like an adult. That and punish them when do do wrong. Don't get yourself banned. Only two people in history have done that.
