Loved it. I have watched all of the vids on this...so neat! I wish Rally was on tv more often (I know it's different than this, but still probably the best type of motorsport to watch).

Loved it!! Had to share via FB. Shouldn't be much left of those tires though. There must have been a dozen practice runs judging by the tire marks. Very cool!

There was a good discussion on DRIVE the other day about how some think this ruins the sport of racing. Such as WRC vs Xgames rallycross. Older guy was somewhat disappointed to see that more people care about Ken Block sliding around in circles instead of the old style competitiveness of motorosports as a pure racing sport vs the show everyone wants to see now. I do agree that the younger generation cares more about show stuff like this instead of true motorosports and racing as it once was. Sad in a way. It's all about your name. Doesn't matter if your an outstanding river. If you have a big name in say, a shoe company, you get your own rally team. Notice how a true WRC champion came to Xgames rallycross for the first time and won by 12 seconds lol the younger kids had no clue who Sebastien Loeb was i'm sure. Just wondering what peoples thoughts are on the "show" everyone wants now vs the actual racing sport.

It's all about the money. No way around it. The sponsors dictate how these things go. In all fairness, it is very entertaining and as such, money is bound to be made and you have to give some credit to some of those drivers...they can actually drive. I would love to see more true rally (like WRC) but it isn't as big here as it is overseas and won't draw the sponsors. Besides, looking at it from cost/benefit standpoint, you don't have to put alot of money into things like gymkhana or more 'entertaining' motorsports events to get alot of money out. As a business, it makes sense. As a motorsports enthusiast, it's a lost battle.
