Decatur Steak 'n Shake cruise-in is back

I am very pleased to announce, that because a majority of the cruisers wanted to return to Steak 'n Shake, the Decatur cruise-ins will be returning to Steak 'n Shake on Spring Ave in Decatur, on the the 3rd Saturdays thru October, 2006, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.

This is because O'Charley's has not been able to accommodate the cruisers - will not not reserve tables for us nor did they give us any food coupons last month. Matter of fact, no one from O'Charley's even came out to see how we were doing. If they do not want to try to accommodate us, then we will find a place that wants us - like Steak 'n Shake.

Steak 'n Shake never wanted us to leave and has always asked us to come back, and now we have the approval of Michaels and Pier One. These two will not give us any problems. When the parking lot fills up we can park all around the Steak 'n Shake building, as well as fill over into Staples parking lot.

I am looking forward to this cruise-in and being back at Steak 'n Shake on Saturday, July 15th. Hope to see many of you there, and hope you all will be glad to be back to a restaurant that missed us and really wants us there, and gives us coupons & t-shirts. Thanks, Marsha

Yes, Steak 'n Shake is off the Beltline, near the corner of Spring Ave & the Beltline. Look for Staples, Arbys, WalMart, Pier One, Michaels & Zaxbys. They are all there near each other. Thanks, Marsha

For those that need driving directions, the Steak 'n Shake address is 2720 Spring Ave. SW, Decatur, AL. Go to www.mapquest.com and get the driving directions from your location to Steak 'n Shake. Thanks.

I usually look for the Wal-mart sign on the left. All the stores on the Beltline can start to look the same to me after a while, lol.

Marsha, great to hear you got your spotback. Are you still doing the Suunday shows at Cici's?

If many would like to do CiCi's on Sunday afternoons in the fall & winter, when the temperatures are cooler during the days, that would be fine with me. If I have enough response and enough are interested, then yes, I would not mind hosting fall & winter events at CiCi's. They would sure like that. Thanks, Marsha

Steak 'n Shake cruise-in, Saturday, July 15th

The manager of Steak 'n Shake came out several times during the evening and stated: Where are all these special rides coming from?!!!! He had never seen so many together at one location.

Steak 'n Shake cruise-ins

How many would be interested in attending this Decatur Steak 'n Shake cruise-in later in the evening during those hot summer nights? You can let us know by emailing us at: cms.luttrell@juno.com

Since Steak 'n Shake is open 24 hours, we can move the time to after the sun goes down. Say starting at 8 p.m. to ??? Last night was great outside at 10 p.m. Still had the vettes and mustangs there. And then others showed up after 10 p.m., after the Priceville event was over. We had already put the sound equipment away, but was inside Arbys eating. This would also eliminate the parking problems with Micheal's since they close at 9 p.m.

We would be willing to move the time starting at 8 p.m. to ??? if we knew how many would still come out and attend - - how many would be interested in this time change. Again, please do let us know. Thanks much, Marsha

I think this would be a great way to beat the heat, especially since Steak and Shake is open late. I for one would love it. Taking night pictures is challenging and fun.

This might be the best way to eliminate the parking issues with Michael's. With Steak 'n Shake open 24 hours, and Arbys is open until 2 a.m., us cruisers would have the entire parking lots to ourselves, with 2 eating places. And, of course, for the shoppers, WalMart is also open 24 hours. I like the idea. I just hope others would. Thanks, Marsha

Late night fun...

Sounds like a great idea to me. In this heat it is hard to get enthusiastic about going anywhere with the top off and, in my opinion, if you cant take the top off why bother going?

I usually wait till it cools down in the evenings to get out and about anyway. Later is better...

I'm in!

Steak 'n Shake late night cruise-ins

Well this poll has 22 yes (100%), and I have had over 25 emails, all yes. So we are going for it. Our next cruise-in at Steak 'n Shake, Decatur, Alabama, on September 16th will be from 8 p.m. to whenever, possibly midnight. I wish we all would have thought about this idea earlier. Thanks for all your responses and I look forward to these late night cruise-ins during those hot summer months. Marsha
