Sotm?

Ok I have been thinking about this and decided to just throw it out there and see what you guys think.

What about a section of the website, not unlike the ROTM section, that promotes/features local shops and what they do and are all about. You could use it as a benefit for the shop or garage to be a sponsor of HCS. It would have an article explaining the shops history and recent acheivments as well as showcasing the abilities and services that they provide. Once the feature has run for the month it will not be deleted, rather put into a section of the site that houses all the sponsors and links to their website if applicable.

I am sure there can be some tweaks here and there, that is just the way I kind of see it in my head. I just feel that it would be a great way to get sponsors for the site as well as helping local business' at the same time. It doesn't have to be just auto related either. Anyone who has a business could do it.

This is similar to the concept behind the "who's who's" magazine of Huntsville. The owner is a really laid back bike guy who has actually turned the concept into a franchise.

But from what I've learned about Huntsville, if you give something away for free, no one will pay for it--ever. The new HCS will have the capability for articles and features, but I believe these will be reserved for those that directly support us.

HCS has always supported the scene, and indirectly, those companies in the scene. It's important to only highlight those companies that support HCS via their contributions. The new HCS will have the capability to recognize the contributions of users too.

Well that's what I was saying. We would offer the write up as a perk for being a sponsor on the site. We wouldn't write anything up unless they were sponsors.

Oh, I guess I misread your post. Too early in the morning! Working on the new site has me up to wee hours thinking.
