November 8th 09:30 AM to 10:00 PM
*The times shown may change, depending on DST settings
Where: Meet at Lowes, North Parkway in Huntsville before 10:30a

Here's the official plan:

We're leaving Geno's parking lot at or before 12:29 pm. We'll cruise to Ft. Payne to get gas and regroup, then we'll head up into the park.

Geno's opens at 11, so I'm planning to be there right at 11 to get lunch before we leave.

For the HSVillains, I'll be leaving the N. Parkway Lowe's parking lot at 10:30. You're welcome to come along. If other guys want to set up other meeting points, of course feel free to.

The way to get there:

The day could not have been more perfect for a cruise and a drive on some mountain roads. And apparently it was a great day for a lot of other enthusiasts as well. A Mercedes g500, a Hummer, and dune buggies were just some of the other vehicles we ran across besides the endless motorcycles.

In Scottsboro, more drivers joined us and we had equal representation of Mustangs, Neon SRT4s, BMWs, and Subarus, making for an almost 20 car mixed-crowd cruise to Fort Payne. Along the way, cameras peered out of cars as we took photos of each other. I got some good rolling shots, but not one of each car like I wanted. If anyone is interested in having these types of shots made of their car, feel free to get in touch with me.

The drive to Little River Canyon felt like the shortest part of the day with small stops along the way to fuel up our cars or ourselves. Gas stations were periodically overrun with our group of cars. Maneuvering our little train of cars through traffic lights without being broken up proved to be a bit of a challenge. We did lose some cars for a bit, but once we stopped at the large overlook, everyone caught up and we proceeded to drive.

Unfortunately, the road must be no secret as it was packed full of other cars and bikes enjoying the drive through the mountain roads. It wasn't like this on the weekday when vehicular drove it.

We regrouped at a turnaround spot and took a few group photos before proceeding to head back to the overlook where we first stopped. There was some discussion about a rock in the middle of the road so some drivers went to examine the feasibility. In the end, there was no feasibility. I waited for the results and enjoyed the humor of sti2k5. Entertaining as always. Maryna and I also stepped a bit off the beaten path to take some pictures of her.

People started heading back as the sun started to set. The drive back to Scottsboro was not too bad, but as the evening started to set in, the weariness of the day started to set in as well. A great and exahusting day.

Special thanks goes out to AF8LTA for taking some of these pictures and shooting some video on my other camera.

Oh, and of course, sti2k5 for providing endless entertainment.

There's 5 hours in just upload time for the pictures/video, so expect the event coverage published late Monday or Tuesday. I can't wait for Knology to do their upgrade on their service. Upload times will be reduce by 3 times or more. Yay!

It's an old Sony dsc-f828 that's almost 5 years old. But it's not as cheap used as I thought it would be. Here's a link to a reputable used dealer:
http://www.keh.com/OnLineStore/Produ...BCL=&GBC=&GCC=

They even have the baby brothers to the 828--the 717 and 707. While even older, these cameras still are extremely capable for the price (sub $200). The 717 actually had one of the best point and shoot lenses ever made, and a much better lens than the 828.

Cool, just give me a call, 615-512-5520. We'll have to schedule it, especially with the weather we have around here.

If you click on the link below the slideshow, you can link the pictures to facebook as well as buy prints in any size imaginable. Just click on the "Share" or "Buy" button. If you have any problems, just post up.

I'm glad you guys brought out the Mustangs. Those are two of the cleanest local Mustangs I've seen.

Oh, I knew that it was a bad idea when I took it, lol. But the videos of Steve are even better.

All these are just priceless memories to show your kids when they get old enough to get into cars. HCS will be around for the next generation if I have something to say about it.

Thank you. Makes it easy when the cars are sick.

And I can do even better. I wasn't satisfied with all the pics. I wanted to get at least one rolling shot of everyone and at least one static shot. I got the static shots, but the rolling shots were a bit of a challenge.

This was my favorite rolling shot of the day:

Hey, I know this is last minute, but I may be doing a test shoot in Huntsville today and would need a car. Would you be available?

Here's who I'm shooting with. No she won't be in the nurse's outfit, lol:
