What started out as a very informal shoot turned into one of the best car shoots I've ever been to. While we were at Ditto Landing, a very nice Austin Healey pulled up and the owner and I chatted a bit. This is the first time the car has been driven all year. He also has a TR6 that's not been driven in a while. It's hard to keep a lot of cars running--I should know.

The overcast sky threatened of rain and the radar confirmed it. We quickly ate at Zaxbys and then went to an undisclosed location for the shoot of our lives. It was perfectly dark for a studio-like environment. Between an open skylight and the overcast sky, we had the perfect light for perfect shots--the only way it could have been any better is with lighting equipment. I quickly felt my camera underpowered as better bodies and glass quickly took the shots I simply can't get with my equipment. Makes me yearn for a Leica. I can't wait to see everyone's shots!

But the day didn't turn out so well for me as as the rubber grip off my Panasonic was lost somewhere during the day. I re-traced my steps but didn't find it. Maybe someone will buy some nice prints that will help pay for the replacement cost. See everyone at the next one. -- Samir

I'm up for this if I can ride with someone and wake up in time. I'm still enroute back from atl and haven't had time to replace the porsche tires.

It's hard to post up stuff quickly. A day or two will pass before you know it, and then people forget about them or don't have as much enthusiasm to see them. It's why I try to post stuff within 72 hours.

Those last few remind me of this shot I took:

I don't have the dynamic range that yours do. Just look at the green in yours. I don't have much of that.

We actually needed a light fill light on the wheels. That's the only thing I found missing lighting-wise on the cars.

Yeah I agree. I found a bunch of random flashes of light in my pictures and i couldnt figure out why till I got home and realized that the entire time I was shooting inside that warehouse I had my UV filter on and it was picking up reflections off other cars lights and random light coming into my camera. I am an idiot and should have paid more attention, but what can you do?lol

The UV filter should've have been picking up any extra reflections. If anything, it would have helped filter out some reflections. And you know, now that I think of it. I should have used my polarizer to remove some of the reflections I didn't want. Doh!

Well I don't know what was causing all my reflections then. I will try and send you some of the ones where there was bad reflections and see what you think. I can't look at that video till I get home though. (No flash player on my phone.)

Yeah, let me look at it. I can probably figure out it out pretty quickly. Too bad all videos are in flash. But I guess if they weren't, we'd still be dealing with all the different video formats that were around.
