mehRides/toys (sok07)

Just thought I'd share my little garage/builds...

2004 Mazda3 (my first ride I bought and modded back in '04....now driven my little bro)

^^^ pic taken by Samir like 5-6 years ago. lol

2007 Mazdaspeed3 *RIP* (my upgrade from the Mazda3 back in March '07...totalled back in Aug '08 when it was rear-ended by a CRV going 35mph while I was sitting at a red light on hwy72)

2009 Mazdaspeed3 (my replacement...acquired Sept '08)

2003 Mr2 Spyder (acquired June '09)

1973 MGB GT (acquired April '10. sat in a garage for 16years....bought for $500, $2k spent in parts & 2 months worth of work later = my dependable daily driver)

Awesome stable of cars! And it's good to see them all driven regularly. It was so cool to see the MGB at the autocross. And those wheels set it off so well.

That's an understatement, lol. Look at the 3 in the first picture. And here it is at an autocross last month:

Yep...I'm in Harvest. I work near the Army Corps of Engineers building off of UniversityDr. So i pass through Madison daily, especially along 72. Honk and wave next time you see me.

I'll be cruising in the mgb tomorrow.

Cool! This weekend's going to have a lot of people from Birmingham, so it'll be a great event. I'll be bringing my lens extension again and seeing if it's the best lens I have or not. I still think the Olympus does the best panning shots out of all of mine, but we'll see.

Oh, and I'm halfway through one gallery of Petit. So I'm about 1/4 done. There were some fires to put out today.

About half of those didn't make the cut due to not being focused sharply enough. I was using some slow shutter speeds while driving 80mph in ATL traffic. But there's one or two that are my favorites.

And since I won't be able to finish this gallery until sometime tomorrow, here's the keepers:

I need to rig up a tripod in the back seat shooting out the window next time. I have a remote release that I could just keep near my hand. Then I just have to figure out how to guess properly on the framing.

Once the gallery is processed, I'll change the links where you can order one.

I saw the Spyder on University the other day. Looks VERY good!

I see the slammed Mazda3 in Madison a lot. Also looks great.

Do you have mud flaps on the MS3? There's a white one on 565 I ALWAYS see that looks very similar to yours...

Thanks!

The Ms3 with mudflaps belongs to a friend of mines. His name is Aaron and he occasionally visits this site from time to time. He's also got a Mazdaspeed3. His is lowered on eibach springs and he's running gunmetal Tenzo BBS style mesh wheels.

I run into him on 565 ALL the time, but he has never been interested in racing.

Maybe because it's ILLEGAL... that does affect people's decisions sometimes.

yah! I get my racing fix AutoXing these days...hardly ever do it out on the streets. It's more entertaining and you can actually find the limits of the car rather safely. I've autoX'd all three of my cars at least 2 times this year. Next year shooting for at least 3 events per car.
