Hello Rocket City!

Hey everyone,
I'm Brandon. Just got stationed here about 3 weeks ago. I'm Navy, working with NMCB 24. I'm trying to get situated into the automotive world here in HSV. I was VA state chapter president of our international car club "Do It Big Motorsports," and plan on starting a chapter here once I get my life settled here. I'll be buying a home soon up in Toney and will be getting married in March. Needless to say, I've got a lot going on but I'm ALWAYS into the automotive scene.

My Rides:
91 Chevy S10
87 Nissan 300ZX
06 Yamaha R6

Restoring:
69 Camaro Z28

Merry Christmas Everyone!

This is a stripped out fill plug on my diff. Let me tell ya...THAT SUCKED!!! I had to take it to a machine shop, have them weld a bolt to it, and get it out. I snapped off a tungsten carbide easy out inside that damn thing!!!

Yes I do. Spent $10k getting the motor rebuilt and setup to run unleaded. All original. My dad was the original owner, still have all the parts boxed up neatly. It's a rolling chassis for the most part right now down in storage in FL with all of the parts. Did you know Chevy offered a dual ram air intake FACTORY for that car?

I don't however have any pics of the car right now. I'm going home for the holidays and I can certainly take some pics of it when I get down there. I'm trying to convince my dad to let me haul the car and everything that goes with it up here once I get a home and let me start the restoration.

These pics are during the thanksgiving break. My pinion seal needed replacing. After completing damn near the entire job, the diff fill plug stripped and wouldn't come out. These are pics of me removing the rear axle...I was so pissed off I had the whole thing removed in 2 hours in my driveway and I was ridiculously hungover.

Welcome! I'm glad you've found the local center of the enthusiast universe. Check out the calendar to see what it's like around here.

Thanks everyone. I hope to be of use to the community. I plan on learning auto paint next year and finish putting my S10 on airbags. Just waiting on my new frame rails from Suicidedoors.

You'll get along great with Munchie, Kerry, and Jaymack. They're been into mini-trucking for a long, long time.

Whenever you decide to get the chevy a little better aquainted with Mother earth just let me know. I have done my fair share of Air setups in the past few years!lol Did you buy a back half from Thorbeck or did you just buy a notch?

I bought the backhalf...6 freaking months ago. I've still yet to receive my framerails and tank. I had a lot of faith in those guys, and they're friendly over the phone...but seriously? Everytime I call them I get told that my rails will be completed and at my door in a couple weeks...I've still not gotten them. I'm going to be calling them again soon to find out WTH is going on. I actually still have the notch plates and EVERYTHING to run a setup, just don't have my frame rails, and I don't have the facilities to teach myself to weld yet

I purchased all of this stuff during my deployment with the hopes of having my truck bagged out before the close of 2010...that didn't happen because I still haven't gotten my rails!

Whoa careful with the language on here buddy.lol I understand your frustration though, it just that Samir tries to keep the language to a bare minimum for sake of children and younger kids who may be lurking.

Edited, for the kids I just don't get it though man, they make some seriously EXCELLENT parts. They're friendly. I had the understanding that the parts are hand built and would take some time. I allotted about 3 months of build time. But 6-7 months? I paid almost a grand for some rails and a tank and haven't heard anything about them in a while.

Well I haven't bought anything from Suicide since Matt left. They do make some fantastic stuff, but I felt like Jason was taking on a lot more work than he and the staff up there could handle. I buy a lot of my air managment from Anthony at www.streetnshow.com. He is an awesome guy and he is based out of Opelika down in Auburn so my stuff is usually here in a good manor of time. As far as your purchase goes...I would just threaten them and tell them that if you don't get your product that you will need your money back and you will go somewhere else and get it.

Sadly, I may end up doing that I want to get my airride done so I can move forward with paint. Once paint is completed then I can do my V8 swap and then I'll be completed with my major changes and can progress with my other projects.
