FS: 85 MR2 - SCCA ITB TT/Club Racer w/current Logbook

At Samir's invitation, I am re-posting my race car for sale ad here...

Pictures of the bulk of the inventory are here.

A "Test Drive" can be arranged at an upcoming TAC or TVR slalom.
$4500 - the entire package
$3500 - the car and most parts (I keep the parts car, some rims and misc parts)
(The parts car is already spoken for, if it does not sell with the race car.)

This is some of the description by the previous owner, from when I bought it:
Quote:
Engine:
Bored .020 over
Decked block and resurfaced head
New valve stem seals installed after it was checked for cracks and straightness
Brand new pistons, rings, rod bolts (less than 8 track hours)
New oil pump
All internal components in the engine have been replaced with factory Toyota (NOT aftermarket) parts including all gaskets
All hoses replaced with new and double clamped where necessary
Home made header running into a supertrap muffler
All belts replaced
ALL wiring has been gone through and replaced as needed.
K&N filter
Required cut off switches installed
All internal parts balanced and blue printed
Ported and polished intake back 1 as per rules in GCR
External oil cooler and remote location on oil filter
Amsoil synthetic oil
Mileage unknown, but speedometer is showing 122K
Over 80 hours spent rebuilding the engine alone

Transmission:
Full rebuild
Quaff differential from TRD
Three puck clutch disk with no springs in disc and adjustable pressure plate
Redline transaxle fluid

Body:
Car professionally painted and is very attractive. The paint job is in good shape and will not require a re-spray. While not perfect (this IS a running race car) you will not have any problems with passing appearance inspection at any event.
All required SCCA decals will remain.
Car had sunroof (cut sunroof out and put new sheet metal in roof area )

Safety equipment:
Full euro style X brace roll cage (at least a $1200 value)
Race seat (kirky)
Safequip six point harness with slip on padding
Fire extinguisher
Removable steering wheel
Fuel sample valve in engine compartment
Safequip window net
Safety kill switch
Wink mirror inside car
Oil catch tank in rear trunk area

Suspension:
Koni coil over adjustable struts all the way around
Adjustable sway bars front and rear with aftermarket bar up front
Alignment set up for track use
Ride height is adjustable and is set up per GCR, ITA rules
Wheels are 14 x 7
Full corner weigh outs and adjustments completed to achieve full 50/50 balance

Brakes:
Full Carbotec brake pads all the way around. These were over $350 and have less than one hour on them at Road Atlanta
Steel braided lines all around
Brand new Master Cylinder
Brake balance valve
Car has an AMB Transponder, but since AMB does not like to transfer those any more, I would prefer to keep it.

When the car moved into ITB, I bought two sets of 14X6 rims (one with Hankook Z214 Autocross tires and the other with Nitto NT-01) and there is a third, currently on the parts car with very old tires.
The safety belts were replaced in '09.

I bought the car in December 2007, and only autocrossed it a few times (to shake it down and get used to it), then TT's (1 in '08, 3 in '09 & 2 in '10). It holds the ITB TT record at TGPR and NSS and was 2009 SEDiv ITB TT Champion.

BTW: I also hold titles for both cars.

Thank you for the post John. User MadPSIentist is a serious fan of the mr2, so I thought this might interest him.
