Stereo Installer Recommendation

Anyone have a recommendation for stereo installer in Huntsville? The Bose cd changer in my Z has decided to stop working and to keep the CDs that are in it. I just want to replace the headunit for now.

Mine did the same thing a few weeks ago. Talk to Beck on here from Sound on Wheels. Great place.

He's no longer with Sound on Wheels.

What I'd recommend is getting a Factory Service Manual and a used factory CD player and changing it out yourself. Probably cost you the same as having someone do it, and you'll have an FSM to boot.

Thanks! Seems to be a common problem with that unit.

My co-worker, Bobby works at Neon Sound. Ask for him and tell him Ryan sent you. He alone has over 25 years in the industry in stereo and window tint.

Sound on Wheels wired up an ipod connect for me. I don't even use the CD player.

Thanks for the replies !

I think I will search for refurbished units today. Doesn't look as though it will be too difficult to get the old unit out. Depending on price, I may go that route after thinking about it. I would like to keep the stock look. But, if I do decide to buy an aftermarket, you can get a module that lets you use the steering wheel controls.

You might get lucky and find a new one or a used one. I'd watch out for refurbished anything unless it's from Nissan/Bose unless they come with a solid warranty.

I ran by The SpeakerBox yesterday. They just opened. Great looking shop and top notch employees.

72 East over Chapman Mountain just past the Raceway(?) gas station.

And Beck is still helping out.

Well my Cobalt is stock with Pioneer 7 speaker system, one is a 10" sub in the back. I'm sure the radio itself is like a Delco Electronics or something lol. I haven't found anything headunit wise that I like and can afford lol.
