TruFacts Racing Supercharged Audi S4 Detail 08/05/2011
We received the opportunity to perform a minor correction on a brand new Audi S4 today! The customer came to us with a car that had minor swirls and buffer trails on the hood that were on the car when he rolled off the dealership lot. The end results look better than it did when it came out of the factory
![]() This is the car. Right after the customer dropped her off we went straight to work The car is literally brand new with only 2600 miles on her when we got her.![]() ![]() First. For cleaning the wheels, we used Sonax Full Effect wheel cleaner. This is AMAZING pH balance wheel cleaner that is safe on all types of wheels and really gets the job done and does it safely. Once you spray the cleaner on to the wheels, you wait until it reacts with the Iron particles from the brake dust and it turns bloody red when its ready to be cleaned, agitated and then rinsed. This is how the wheels looked before: ![]() This is one of the wheels with the Sonax working its magic. ![]() This is the end result after also cleaning the inside wheel hub with our wheel detailing brush. ![]() ![]() We got on to cooling the area for the correction down for the first steps in our prepwork. ![]() Chemical Guys Maxi Suds II with the foam gun and a 100% sheepskin wash mitt were used to rid the car of any surface contaminents. When doing paint correction, It it VERY important to strip all of the remaining waxes or oils off of the surface. That way when you correct the paint, there aren't any false, or hidden swirls filled with wax. ![]() ![]() ![]() We dried the car after rinsing the rest of the soap off with our Jumbo Microfiber Waffle Weave towels. The next step consisted of Clay barring the entire working area to try and catch any remaining surface contaminants with Poorboys spray and wipe and Claymagic Blue clay bar. ![]() After a full clay job we went back and rewashed the front of the car and followed by a sheeting and drying with the towel for a second time to complete our prep work procedure to begin our correction. ![]() ![]() Ready for correction now ![]() ![]() We worked in 12 by 12 sections on the car until we achieved the results we wanted starting off with the Meguiars 105 with a Lake Country Orange CCS Pad and followed by the Meguiars 205 with a Black pad. ![]() Swirls in the car before. ![]() ![]() Hard to see this so look close left side has not been corrected so it has swirls in the paint still. The right side is after a pass with the Meguiars 105 using a Flex DA polisher. This is a 50/50 of the difference that it made after our first step in polishing. ![]() Next up after we finished correcting the swirls and buffer trails in the hood we went to a glaze. We used Chemical Guys EZ Creme Glaze, this is an acrylic based glaze that allows sealants to properly bond even over the glaze. ![]() ![]() For the final step we sealed the hood with Blackfire Wet Diamond sealant. The primary purpose of a sealant is to properly protect your vehicle from the elements. Sealants are designed to bond to your paint and provide roughly 3 to 6 months of protection. This is significantly longer protection than what a carnauba wax offers, which is typically 3 to 8 weeks. The barrier of protection that sealants provide help minimize contamination from embedding to your paint and makes maintaining your vehicle significantly easier. ![]() After the final step of the correction, we used 303 Aerospace to clean up some of the panels under the hood and give them a like new shine along with a little bit of Rain X for the customers windows. The End Result (It was hard to capture the real results from the correction on the hood thanks to the clouds being in our way )![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Another Day, Another happy customer! We are very happy we had the chance to correct another good looking vehicle and bring it up to the owners standards.

Awesome work and writeup guys! I remember that s4 at the Madison Jetpep meet earlier this week.
I was wondering if it was the supercharged model because it scooted when leaving.

Wow..great work! Very professional. Not just a 'park it in the grass, wash it with dish soap, air dry, and vacuum it out for 75 cents' kind of detailing that you see way too much these days.
![]() If I had a shiny car, I'd definitely be bringing it to you guys..I'll have to let some of my friends know about y'all. ![]() Also, keep up these detailing threads! I love reading/watching them. |

The "dealer-installed swirl/buffer mark" option wasn't really working for me, luckily I saw TFR's post here. A couple of emails and 24 hours later, all better
![]() They did a great job and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to anyone. |

Joel is a technician there at Hiley that does detailing as well, so if you ask for him maybe he can make sure it is cleaned without swirls.

I met Joel when I was picking up the car, he seemed like a good guy. I may talk to him again soon, my mod wish list is growing at an alarming rate. I need to see how they feel about mods vs warranty. Good idea though, I will have to remember to ask that it not be washed when it's in for service. My OCD will thank me for it. |

![]() It would be a good idea, you are limited to what you can mod without voiding your warranty. Sometimes you can work with them with some extra mods. Let me know if I can help with sourcing some parts for you or if you need anything else!
