There's a black wax for black cars specifically by Turtle Wax. Get it and the detailers and the clay bar. I've used EVERYTHING on a black car. Bar none it's the best, end of thread.... lol

Their products are definitely impressive. Here's what they were able to do with my brother's car when I went to their free detailing clinic a few years back:

For buffing, I like Meguiars 105 and 205 depending on how much work is needed.

For a wax, I've used quite a few over the years and haven't found anything better in going on and coming off as well as a good lasting wax than Mother's, especially on black/dark cars. Their synwax is very good, but I haven't seen it in a while.

On the T/A, I just used the 205 and Mothers.

My favorite polish would probably be the Megs 205, favorite wax depending on circumstances would be something simple like a megs nxt 2.0. Im more of a sealant fan and on those terms i am all for the Blackfire Wet Diamond Sealant for my car.

It honestly really depends on what kind of finish you are looking for along with what your price range is. As far as polishes, it depends on the amount of correction that needs to be done.

These are kind of extremes on the terms of cutting compounds, if the car/bike does not have alot of damaged paint but still needs a correction something that is less abrasive is necessary, while the 205 is a great finish polish it has very little cutting compound and shouldn't be used with a very abrassive pad. Though, there is room to play depending on the pad, compound, and buffer combination that is being used.

As far as waxes go it really depends on what you are looking for and what your price range is, you can get anything from a $10 liquid wax up to $250+ paste wax. It really depends on the amount of carnauba and the quality of the carnauba in the product. If you want a wax that will give you great results on a black car but also on other colors or do you want a wax that is only going to look great on a black car, though this is quite skewed, as there is not a "black only" wax, there are waxes designed for dark colors, warm colors, cool colors, and light colors.

I am still torn between sealants and waxes however. >_<

I have a Dark metallic Grey Nissan as my daily driver, keeping the spots off of it is a PAIN in the arse, but I have tried the black turtle wax and it works great I also ran across a turtle wax thats in a blue bottle that i use on EVERYTHING and it is awesome. It is really easy to put on thick and still be able to wipe off and can still be used with a buffer.

When I am just wiping down any of the cars I use a great Lucas spray that is cheaper than Mcguires but gives you the same results. I bought it thinking I like other Lucas products so I tried it and again I am happy with the results. I believe Lucas makes other detailing products to but can't remember, I haven't had to visit that isle lately.

To wash the cars we use the Nano wash. If you are washing and dont have time for waxing it works pretty well also and cuts through a lot of road grime with no problems. We tend to wash at least 2 cars out of the fleet of 6 every week, so we do what we can to make the job easy.
