TruFacts Racing Rossion Q1 detail

As I'm sure most of you have seen in person or picture of the Rossion Q1 that was in town over this past weekend. On Friday, the owner called us here at TFR stating that he would like to get the car washed for the weekend. Once he arrived we had a short talk about the car and after a quick walk around we agreed upon a wash and wax package along with a quick engine bay cleaning and interior cleaning.




The car was quite dull and we quickly noticed that the car had a lot of potential and could have a great shine and depth in the paint work that the car deserved. Though there were some slight holograms and very light swirls in some areas of the vehicle and a build up of brake dust (The pads that come on the car produce a lot of dust from the slightly higher operating temperature of the braking system) we did not feel that a paint correction was necessary, nor was there enough time for a correction.






We began with cleaning the wheels with Sonax Full Effect (http://www.detailedimage.com/wax.php...525/500-ml-S1/) and tackling the engine, rear body panels/wheel wells, and front suspension/wheel wells and paneling with Chemical Guys Grime Reaper A.P.C. (http://www.detailedimage.com/wax.php...P180/16-oz-S1/). I apologize for no pictures of this step as we were working at a quick pace as the owner had quite a busy day lined up.

After the wheels, engine bay, and front compartments were cleaned and rinsed off we started on the exterior of the car. Using Chemical Guys Maxi-Suds II (http://www.detailedimage.com/wax.php...P224/16-oz-S1/) in our Gilmour Foamaster Foam Gun (http://www.detailedimage.com/wax.php...allon-Tank-S1/) and gave the Rossion a Foam bath. The advantage of this is that it gives the dirt and grime a medium to be lifted off of the car and reduces the chance of the dirt and grime putting micro scratches in the paint.




Once the car had a good covering of shampoo we used the traditional 2-bucket method to wash the car down using 100% Sheepskin wash mitts. After the car was cleaned and rinsed, we used large waffle weave microfiber clothes to dry the car of all water.




Once the car was dry, we brought it inside and began claying the car using Clay Magic Fine Blue Clay (http://www.detailedimage.com/wax.php...-P41/200-g-S1/) and Chemical Guys Synthetic Quick Detailer (http://www.detailedimage.com/wax.php...P220/16-oz-S1/) (Our original bottle cracked that is why it is in a Poorboy's World bottle =P).



Once the exterior and engine bay were clayed, the interior was vacuumed and all trim was cleaned and protected with 303 Aerospace Protectant (http://www.detailedimage.com/wax.php...-P12/16-oz-S1/). This is a great product that has great protective properties and can be used on interior dashboards, center consoles, door trim, leather seats, and in the engine bay without leaving being a greasy/oily finish. The 303 was also used in the engine bay and rear diffuser. The windows were cleaned and protected using Rain-X.




Once the interior and engine bay were sorted we continued on to waxing the car. For this we chose to use Dodo Juice Purple Haze Soft Wax (http://www.detailedimage.com/wax.php...237/250-ml-S1/) using a Lake Country Red Foam Applicator Pad (http://www.detailedimage.com/wax.php...ator-Pad-P225/) and applied the wax by hand.




Once we were finished applying and buffing off the wax we pulled the car out into the sun to see our final product:

The fact that the owner said the car looked better than it did when we finished with it made my day! It was an awesome experience to work on such a nice vehicle

And you guys did a great job too. The owner said that the car didn't even look that good when he got it. Kudos on a job well done.

By the end of the weekend the car was filthy from bugs on the front to a layer of dust from the ballfields at Priceville. You guys should have tagged with us and kept the car spotless...while passing out business cards.

Next time he's in town, we'll do it all over again.

As I am sure you guys noticed me and my wife in one of the photos, we needed to get over there to crack the whip on some guys so we could go play in the car. When Willie got here I told him I would not ride in a nasty car. So we made him get it cleaned by the TruFacts guys

I was thinking of have it come back on a weekend like that with a Sunday autocross at Milton Frank. I know he would like to try it out just once out there. And we'd love to watch it.

The best one I've heard is, 'it's not that fast', lol.

Oh he found out his map sensor was dirty which was causing it to have issues

That definitely explains it. I'm glad he figured it out. So it's going to be even faster when it comes down again.

I do not know about auto crossing the after I was explained by one of the experts that big horse power is your enemy in auto cross. O woops we proved that theory wrong when did a 30 mph u turn on university drive and then went full throttle in second gear without braking the tires lose

The suspension is just too nicely tuned on the Rossion.
