Moontown Cruise and Show

Hey, I'm about 75% sure that I will be attending this event:

Anyone who wants to come along is more than welcome! Let me know who's going.

Ah, for some reason when I searched that came up with newer posts than the NEW event listing. Confusing. Needs years or something if the event recurs! Especially when people bump the thread with new replies.

That's why the calendar is the authority on the events and not the forum threads. It keeps the right events in the right order regardless of the discussion.

I researched this a lot before implementing it this way. A lot of sites have problems with events slipping through the cracks without unnecessary thread bumping. On HCS, the events for the next 7 days are all neatly on the homepage and on the calendar. And you still have the discussion of each of those events in the same click since they're right below the event listing.

This is a bit counterintuitive for people familiar with forum systems, but it's more instinctive for those who never used a forum before. I have a lot of other ideas for the user interface, but I have no time for that now--back to photo processing.
