My Wheel Fix It Experience
So I took the SE-R over to wheel fix-it to get my new tires installed and the experience was...so, so. I was greeted when I walked in by, who I found out later, was the owner. I told him I had an appointment to get my tires put on, and he said okay, but he never asked me what my name was. I went back to him after about a minute just to inform him who I to ensure that they were going to be installing the correct tires on my car. The first young man that was initially working on my car seemed to be experienced at what he was doing, but then there was another guy installing my tires who seemed to be fairly new. He was having to take some instruction from one of the ladies that I met at the Speakerbox meet. I don't know about you guys, but I'm not comfortable and wasn't comfortable with a newb working on my car, so needless to say, I was nervous wreck the rest of the time I was there, constantly getting up to see what he was doing. I would equate this to going to the hospital and having a nursing student or resident doctor working on you. I know they have to get their experience, but they can get their experience on/with someone else. They got finished with my car in a timely fashion, however I had to wait for five or ten minutes before someone to rung me out. Overall, it was an okay experience. Definitely not the best, and definitely not the worst. Price for the install was very reasonable.

We are sorry that your experience with us was not as great as it should have been and we do appreciate your feedback cause it will help us better our business. We do installs by appointment only, so your name was in the book and on your tires. All of our installers have to learn on wheels and tires around the shop before touching a customers car, I did ask about the instruction that was given and I was told they were talking about and complimenting your car. Our office manager that handles payments noticed your car was ready but also noticed you had been on your phone and didn't want to interrupt. Again, we are sorry for any problems you had at Wheel Fix It and we do appreciate your business/feedback and hope that our feedback will help to make you a returning customer.

What she was telling him was to be careful when mounting tire/wheel on the balancing machine to make sure that it was fully seated. I heard the conversation about the car, but this was different. I umderstand that people have to learn and they only learn by experience, I just prefer to have the MOST experienced people working on my car, like you or her. That's all I'm saying.

Sounds like it went fine to me other than some personal preferences - Maybe next time will be better, or take it to the local factory dealer where they can charge you out the rear

My dealer doesn't charge that much to mount tires, and I didn't take it there to save money. I did it to support the businessess here on HCS.

When it came time to mount the tires on my Porsche, which I researched for 2 years before I gave them to anyone, I chose Wheel Fix-It. Luke knows how to mount tires as that's just part of the job when fixing a wheel, and they are a Tire Rack preferred installer. Plus, they know how to repair anything that goes wrong on a wheel, which is the main reason I went. If anyone in town damages a wheel when mounting it, they send it to Luke anyways, so why not go to the source?Quincy, I appreciate you supporting the businesses that support HCS, and this type of feedback is vital to their business. They can't fix something if they don't know it's broken. ![]() I've run businesses for years, and I can tell you, there's no way to keep everyone perfectly happy. But if you're a good business, you try--day-in, and day-out. That's what I see in the staff at Wheel Fix-It, and that's why I approached them about being an advertiser on HCS. If I don't believe in them myself, why would I expect all of you to?

Hey Quincy, we met at The Speakerbox, I just wanted to say thank you for supporting our business and thank you for the feedback. It's not often we get feedback from customers, but we like to hear it good or bad, because it makes us a better business. I wish I had recognized you, I would've struck up a conversation but I have horrible memory. Anyway, we really do appreciate your business and hope to see you again.
You gonna bring your mini up here?? After seeing your son drive it you might want to haha.

I was satisfied
If I am putting "standard" tires on my wife's car I will go
to Wal-Mart at the end of my street. For oversized tires on my daily driver I think I will choose WFI over NTB next time since they are also TireRack installers. For the 12" rims on my 1950 Chevy RatRod? Only Wheel Fix-It. I tried NTB and Topline before I went to them, they were the only ones that took the time to understand my problem and concerns and then fix my tire. |
