they didn't use the fastest car from a couple manufactures. make it a fair race. the guy driving the Z06 must of been afraid of the car. no ZR1, no Ford GT, no Viper, no Lambo, and sticking the Lotus and M1 in there? those cars aren't even close to the caliber of the other cars in this. i'm pretty sure Cody has gone at least 1/2 second faster than that in his Z06, the Boss "should" be a high 11 car, and the LF-A has gone 11.6s.

sorry for the rant Samir but i hate these comparisons. take the top tier cars from each manufacture, give three drivers three runs. throw the fastest and slowest run out, and average from there. a trained monkey could run 12's in a GT-R, a high powered, light weight RWD takes a art know as "driving" to actually perform.

you can find anything to support any car you like on youtube .. it would be nice to see some real world results based perhaps on car value .. what`s the fastest car under 50 grand .. what`s the fastest between 50 and 75 grand and so forth ..

I think this was just something done because it would be cool, with the specs coming in just because they timed it. I mean, just look at all the dust that came off from the start. No way two cars had the same track conditions.

All in all, it's just something neat to see. I had an idea to shut down 565 and have all the exotic owners I know race in a straight section with a helicopter in chase. Practical test? No way. Exciting? Yes sir!

There was one done a little while back for most bang for buck. I think someone posted it here because I never look for these things since I don't even have time to eat most days.

It would be cool, wouldn't it? Senator Holtzclaw has even some grander ideas, but I think there's ways we can make them happen.

I ditto both of these. If you look at the speed, the vette was going faster than the gt-r when it crossed the finish line. Don't get me wrong, the gt-r is my dream vehicle, but it was made to take turns, so the higher output vehicles would be faster in a straight line.

the GT-R has more power than the Z06....
the Z06 just has quite a few less pounds. the traction system on the new ZR1 is suposed to be pretty spectacular. i'd like to see it, the Ford GT, and the Viper ACR thrown in there just to even things up for the American cars. i'd also like to see the GT2 RS 4.0 in the mix. they used top tier cars from some, and not others.

a 1 mile race with this group would end MUCH differently.

Not to mention the top end restrictions that the awd systems will start to pose for the cars that have them.

What gets really interesting is when you start looking at the cars that set the land speed records. They'll pass a car going 155mph like it's standing still once they get going.
