I only stopped by for a short time but got a chance to see everything.

What's the next one you are headed to?

Next suggestion for Samir: HCS nametags!

This looked like it was fun. I wish I would have heard about it before it was over.

That show just keeps getting bigger. I know there was over like 200 cars. I had an awesome time and finally got to chat up with most of you after being away for a month, feels like over a year lol. BTW did anyone get any pics of my Supra? That was it's first show and my camera lens is broke on my phone . I'm glad everyone hitting the scene hard this year as well. Can't wait for this weekend . Sucks cause my car is straight under construction and no one is doing that class any more hardly . But I understand why. just sucks cause this car is going to take me a few years to finish and do it right.

The white sticker looks good on black.

Well, the entry fee is probably what kept some of the HCS cars as spectators. Between registration, food, and an entry fee every weekend, this gets expensive. So you cut out the entry fees and still have money for fuel and food.

I actually had an idea for something similar a few years ago:

And then use some white stickers to put your username in the gap on the top of the frame.

They said 209 on their website, but I haven't seen pictures that reflect this number. I think they had registrations that didn't show a car.

I agree about the fees, I do know that it is expensive to put on a show that will attract enough people to pay for itself.
I think we had this conversation last year- most seemed to go with $10 and minimal prizes and trophies. The trip to Madison and $25 entry plus expenses might keep me out of Insanity Skate Park this weekend. I am still in "hobby" status right now, my wife is trying to keep me out of "obsessed" status.

If you don't do tag frames you could do plastic nametags at a reasonable price.

Paying for an event is all about connections. There's sponsors for this event that I've never even seen in the car scene. If you happened to know people with pockets in the right places, money can be easy to get. Events like the one this weekend at Insanity Skate Park are very grassroots--local companies partnering together to make a good event to benefit local charities that immediately impact our community. It's the best type of event to support IMO. Also, check out what you get on some registration fees. T-shirts included and things like that definitely add value.

I've seen nametags, but only by the local Miata and Corvette clubs. I don't think it's something everyone would do. Anyone have some thoughts on this?

Name tags are not that expensive and will last quite awhile as long as you don't loose it! Plus, when you are at other functions trying to make "those connections", this gives your club a more professional presence to the people that have the "deep pockets"! The reward for putting on the car show is the feedback from the participants and spectators, and the icing on the cake is making the donation to the charity we support through this effort

I've seen websites giving out nametags that fit on lanyards. They look a little better IMO than pin on name tags and are pretty common in the workforce today so you usually dont even need to supply lanyards. I know i've got about 6-7 at home.

I'll show you one of my nametags from another site sometime Samir. Looks pretty cool and laminated and has my forum name on it.

Thank you both for the feedback on the nametags. If you can bring your nametag from the other site on Tuesday, I can take a look at it then.

Regarding entry/registration fees. We were out of state for this event. But Chip & others we hang with stated that locally $25 is out, and $20 maybe, only if we get a meal ticket with the entry/registration fee (which some events do). Otherwise, $15 for local events. As we are not interested in trophies, awards or door prizes.

So if door prizes consist of restaurant gift cards, would you still not be interested?

Well, if you put it that way!!!! We have never received one of these. Chip usually ends up with items of no interest to him or that he does not need. So we pass on to others. Ask BobH (about his nice cup holder for his C Cab)!!!
