It is suspicious. Some of the wording as well as the fact that the person who posted it just registered on March of 2012 and only has two posts.

I'm not calling it confirmed. But the forum administrator made it news on the home page. Without a source...

Not believing it. Price is too close with the BRZ and the FR-S is missing too much compared to the BRZ to only be $800 cheaper.

Official turbo speak direct from Subaru this early in the game is going to make me wait...I would be more willing to put the money into this car with more power.

i'll have to see it. the FA will not live with a turbo, and where are they going to put it? the normal mounting location has a firewall in the way, and it sits to low to mount it under the engine like the turbo Legacy. i don't see the engine bay having the room for a turbo.

That's enough to justify a $800 price difference. I don't see them having a wide difference in cost as one brand would win out over the other. The way for them to place both vehicles in the market would be for one to be a 'premium' version of the other.

I think an extra 50 hp is more than reasonable. Nice to see they will be doing it without a turbo. With the current BRZ running high 14 second quarter-mile times, I wonder what 50 hp and additional weight loss will do for that time.

He also said that supercharging had been dismissed because it would make the BRZ too heavy on fuel.

The most surprising statements I saw in that review were that, "This car will dominate at autocrossing. Track day drivers will love it because unlike the AWD platform of the WRX and STI this car has CRISP turn in, allows you to get on the gas BEFORE the apex and tracks out with an amazing amount of confidence. AGAIN……all from a stock car."

And "It reminds me of a go kart in the sense that you come in hot, trail brake, crank in the amount of steering input you need and the car gives it to you as you sweep past the apex and then track out WITHOUT upsetting the “rhythm” of cornering."

I guess this really will give the Miata a run for the money in the autocross world.

Can't wait to see the battle instill.
