those were just my keepers listed above. ive owned several that i had for a very short time.

my 'short term' dabbles into german cars started with a 1978 300D and later, a porsche 928 and even a scirocco. the 300D was slower then the 49h.p. dasher wagon, it was a tank, complete with matching tank performance. planned to put the body on a 4x4 frame but sold it instead. the porsche... well it was nice, fast and even gold in color (made famous in the movie - risky business), but did not have the sunroof option. within 2 weeks of owning this car (bought from a family member) the wiper motor went out and that cost me 900.00 bucks !!.. thats all it took to get rid of it and to not buy stuff from family members again. owned a 1g vw scirocco for little while.. traded the railbuggy for it. he did not like the railbuggy after the fun wore off and the vw scirocco was rough enough for me to agree to trading back (seems the fun wore off for both of us at the same time).

i also owned a 1978 f250 longbed 'camper special' for 1 day . bought it for a great price, it was a great truck in great shape. parked it in the yard to clean it up... not 3 hours went by and a guy pulled up and asked if i wanted to sell it.. he offered too much over what i paid.. she was sold before i even transfered the title or got insurance.

owned a maverck once (dont remember year) but it was a 4 door when 4 doors were not cool, also owned a mid 70s dart/valant looking thing.. it had a slant6 and i bet its still running today.. but it also had the uncool at the time 4 doors. both cars were moved quickly untill i wound up with the ford ex-police cruiser.. also a 4 door, but at least it hauled ass

owned a 1961 unibody ford P/U 4x4 ... but did not know what it was. traded for a mucho later year stepside 4x4 (the 1980 4x4 listed eariler).. and i thought i made a killer trade ... (i think we can all agree who made the killer trade. i did not know how rare those unibody 4x4s' were at the time)

parents owned a 1976 fiat spyder and a 1972 MGB. they were pretty much mine. i was always driving them bacause they were extra cars and i was always fixing crap on them. the fiat never ran right either.. that was one picky SOB of a car IMO.

but i got some new ones to add to the above list

1991 prelude (so now i have two)
1998 taurus (daughter new car)

and the honda wagon sold.. so it goes in the had section.

the problem i have is that i seem to own a car for either a few weeks or a few decades... strange.

Wow, that's one long list! I don't know why, but I thought it would be interesting to see what the years of the vehicles would look like charted.

It's an interesting chart. It shows that as times goes on, the breadth between the years of the vehicles you have increases.

95 Honda Accord
97 Chevy Camaro
86 Toyota 4WD
04 Acura RSX Type S
87 Toyota 4 Runner
89 Toyota 4WD SR5 (nicest one i've owned to date)
69 Toyota FJ-40 Land Cruiser
69 Chevy Camaro (project)
57 Chevy BelAir
77 Honda Civic CVCC (current project)
05 Nissan 350Z
06 Chevy Corvette Z-51
93 Toyota 4WD (other current project)
91 Honda CRX (for sale!!!!)

I've made a fair amount of side money fixing old Toyota's. I've always had one as a daily since I was 16 and in my opinion there isn't a better vehicle on this earth. I've raised so much hell in those things and they just keep taking it. So if anyone ever runs across a 4 runner or 4WD with a blown motor or just need minor work for cheap let me know I'm always looking for more.....lol. I've been hunting for a clean 79-85 that needs motor work (there so hard to find especially in decent shape)

Those older Toyota trucks were built beyond being built. My friend Clint had an 84 that had 700,000mi on the original block. It had been rebuilt twice, but was still going. He finally broke it after the timing chain came off because the tensioner failed and he didn't fix the tensioner. It was needing work anyways because he had lost compression on two of the cylinders.

He was my partner in the 1-800-Radiator business, and we also had a 95 that we used as a delivery truck. We beat the shot out of that truck and Clint rebuilt that motor after it finally gave way (it was a bad rebuild), and he then sold the truck after driving it for almost another 3 years. They don't build them like that anymore.

I got 312k out on the original motor in my 86, just rebuilt it and hoping for at least another 300k out of it.

I don't doubt you'll get it. Clint rebuilt his motor in the 84 and it's probably on its way to a million miles now. Too bad he sold the truck, so we may never know...

How about too many to list, even if I could remember them all in the past 40 years!!!
My first ride was a 1972 Opel GT; my current ride is a 2007 Mazda MX5; with many in between!
My oldest & favorite ride was a 1931 Ford 5-window coupe, bright chrome yellow; it was a blast and got the most attention.
My favorite that I drove & raced from my high school years was a 1970 Dodge Challenger T/A, plum purple. Marsha
