Gas prices to spike 60 cents or more by May

“Somehow we have to figure out how to boost the price of gasoline to the levels in Europe.”

EFF this now! Something has to give. I ride a motorcycle in 30 degree weather because it gets good gas mileage. I can't afford to drive my vehicles because of the price of gas. This has got to stop.

I've seen the prices fluctuate this much since I made the gas price widget on the home page (scroll down and look on the right if you haven't seen it).

And let's put this in perspective--$0.60 x 10 gallons=$6. If you fill up 4 times a month, that's $24. So you just have to eat out one less time a month.

We'll never see European prices because the market can't take it. Check this neat table that shows the world's gas prices in USD as of March 2005:

And that's why it never will happen. The infrastructure of the country will collapse. I guess it's why we fight over there to secure the fuel supply.

Yeah, the United States is way behind on gas prices. (Which I'm not complaining about) This is also a push to get Americans to buy electric and hybrid cars. No more muscle cars, big trucks and SUVs people lol. But yeah, anytime my wife gets all pissy about gas prices, I remind her of the same thing Samir. 60 cents is only 6 bucks. I'd much rather keep that 6 bucks for myself. 24 a month for one car turns into 48 for two cars though

Just because the price is cheaper here than elsewhere is no reason for us to acquiesce to the thinking that we have it good. The price of gas here is painful. I could not care less what they pay in Europe, that is for them to deal with. The price of gas is cheap in Iran I hear but that doesn't mean that they have it good.We have the resources here to drive the price back down to reasonable levels if we had politicians in office that wanted to let it happen. The price of energy should have had a priority starting back in the 1970s when we were shocked to find out just how dependent we were on foreign oil. We have yet to address it seriously. Our illustrious leader wanted to make a third world county out of America and he is succeeding. We need leaders with vision for a better tomorrow, not a vision to make us just as miserable as the rest of the world.
Oops, got into politics again......nevermind...

As enthusiasts that get to play with some of the most sought after vehicles in the world (just as anyone outside the US how bad they want a 1969 Chevelle or a classic muscle car, and you'll see how rare these are for them), we are at the top of the heap. Some of the best roads, 'inexpensive' fuel, and a car culture that is part of the American culture overall.

And just as other things have required change, such as the advent of seat belts, airbags, mandatory insurance, etc., fuel costs are something that will eventually create change. And the best thing we can do is make sure we are an active part of the process, just as we have been through all the other changes.

I remember when gas hit the 1.00 mark. I was like omg 1.00 is too much for gas. Now it's got crazy. There for a while gas got under 3.00 for like a week then shot back up .

Yeah I remember (barely) gas being under 1.00$ a gallon. I also remember being a teenager and getting 25$ for gas, I could fill up my buick and drive all dang week, wherever I wanted to go.

Now 25$ is not even half a tank, in any vehicle I own.

But that's when minimum wage was also $3 or something like that. Inflation drives everything up.
