Thumbs up Another Volkswagen nerd

Hello! I have been meaning to join up over here but have just gotten around to it. I'm sure I already know quite a few of you guys..

I'm Austin .. from Scottsboro. I drive a 2002 VW GTI VR6 and am a member of H2O Tuning. The car has a few simple mods... and is currently halfway through an air build with Munchie! We are hoping to finish it this coming weekend

BTW There is another tornado red gti in Huntsville that has Rotiform BLQs... but his has a black roof and they're 18s. Just thought I'd mention it so if you see him around you know the difference. haha

I'm unsure of clearance between fenders/wheels but... I'm hoping to either be on lip or tucked. I plan on notching and rolling the frame pinch welds that are in the front fender well.

I'm using Air Lift Slam XL front struts.. hoping to be LOW!

Here is a PHOTOSHOP of what my ideal "stance" would be... we will see!

Welcome Austin! It's good to have some of the H2O guys on here. I see the cars out all the time, and really enjoy the meets when I get a chance to get out to them.

Did you get a chance to go to the recent dyno day? How was the turnout? I know the weather was horrible that day.

I actually didn't get to make it to the dyno day. I have had some other issues with the car lately that I haven't figured out yet. Blowing axles and such.

Would the axles have issues with the lowering? I know some do, and some don't.

I don't know whats going on. I never had issues with my OEM axle ... until it finally went out recently. I'm on my 3rd cheapo replacement from Advanced... in only a couple weeks.

Looks like I'm about to have to order some Raxles.

Ahh, that explains it. German parts vs Mexican ones. Get some factory ones again and I think you'll be okay. I believe H2O has a discount with Hiley on parts too.

Hey man if you still have your factory ones take them to Stan at Cannons racks and axles on leeman ferry. If not just go to him to get some. They are cheaper than the autozone but are factory axles that he rebuilt. I had the same problem with autozone advanced an orielly axles. I went to him and havnt had problems since.

So he can rebuild my factory one? Any idea of cost? This sounds promising! Thank you for the heads up!
