Interesting Evo 8 Body work

Here is a thread from EvoM on a CT9A with some interesting body work. It is a little wild for my taste. And the color looks a bit different from the OEM blues.

But what really caught my eye was the front bumper. The area around the intercooler and the side ducts.

Here is a stock Evo front end for comparison:

i like the front bumper cover, it's different enough to stand out to those in the know, yet not over the top enough for those that wouldn't know any better.
the side skirts and wing... not so much... small skirts and flat trunk would be killer

I like the front bumper, but the rest of it is a bit too much for my taste.

My biggest gripe is not with the wing, but the fenders. That wing could possibly do something for the car on a track. Fender gap up front (as seen from behind) makes it look its got a big gaping dent or something.

I'd drive it as is. Personally I'm not a fan of the wide front fenders and a less bit aggresive wing (functional or not). If it's track only then that's a different story.

Yeah I'm not really a fan other than the Evo VII tails and the front bumper. I like the OEM Evo look. Call me crazy.

But the wide fenders thing is actually really common with Evos. Literally all that "kit" is are just washers to space it further from the body at some of the OEM attachment points.

Real widebody kits made by someone like Voltex are a bit different and don't just have a "gap" so you can throw on a wider tire.

i don't like the tacked on quarter extensions.. they look tacked on and cheap. that car would look much better with stock quarters.

I have to lean the seat back in my RX-7 to keep my head off the roof. And I am just 6ft. So it could just have something to with a comfortable driving position.

If your gonna nit pick the interior.. The lime green racing harness with the ugly red seats is worse than a gangsta lean seat position.

Interesting. Personally, I've always liked the stock look of the Evo VII.

Since it's an older car, you can just straight import it now.

I could import one in 2020. I think the rule for the US is 25 years.
