Where: Bank Street, Downtown Decatur, AL
Contact: b.a. king

The city has decided to add a cruise in to their 3rd Friday event in down town Decatur. They hope to pattern it after the Gadsden Cruise In. For the time being it will be held on Bank Street just down from the old bank building. When all road work is done on 2nd Ave close to Princess Theater, it may move up there. It will start about 4:30 -5:00 p.m.-ish and go to about 9:00 p.m. Bring the wives as there are antique shops, Civil War museum, Tenn Valley Pecan Co, and more. Restaurants are A Little Slim, Simp Mcgee's, Tim Buck 2 deli shop. They are working on getting more food vendors in for the cruise. If you know of food vendors have them contact me.

The old state bank parking area should be open for photo ops if you so desire. We hope to be able to park in the very middle of the street like Gadsden, but must leave a fire lane. Work with us as this was done on very short notice. Ya'll come. Hope I covered it all.

If you want, I'll make you a dedicated gallery that you can upload to right here on HCS. Just be sure to only upload the stuff you want published as it will be live immediately.

That I am! It's a whole new level of balance, especially right now while catching up.

This was the first time my son rode in the hot rod to a cruise-in/show more than a mile from the house. And he said he had a really good time. It may be time to get a car with a little -- make that a lot -- more room so the whole family can ride.

Hope to be there next month.

There are loop holes in that.how are they gona prove who brought there on and bought from vender? I think its a bad idea especially when cars are involved. some drunk falls on my ride or thinks its a park bench " Houston we have a problem"

The thing about laws like that, they are broken and abused. they just turned the historical district in to a nest for trouble.

In order to drink in public you must have the beer in the special cup that is only available from venders. This is not a open container law allowing bud light bottles and bud cans in your hands

I don't think this is going to be an issue as most people are responsible.

That's definitely going to help keep things under control.

Even though there are ways to skirt around the systems in place, I'm sure an officer that sees someone that's had to much won't hesitate to take action. And I think that will keep things under wraps without a problem.

little over a week away!! 2 bands this month. don't know who one of them is but the other is the army band that was there last year. THEY ROCK THE HOUSE....OR THE STREAT AS IT IS. they will be on lower bank street where there will be food and drink for for sale. thats is located in bank street green. the new law does not go into effect till next month so be carefull with your drinks . the bands alone are worth the trip.
