Decatur 3rd Friday Cruise In

The city has decided to add a cruise in to their 3rd Friday event in down town Decatur. They hope to pattern it after the Gadsden Cruise In. For the time being it will be held on Bank Street just down from the old bank building. When all road work is done on 2nd Ave close to Princess Theater, it may move up there. It will start about 4:30 -5:00 p.m.-ish and go to about 9:00 p.m. Bring the wives as there are antique shops, Civil War museum, Tenn Valley Pecan Co, and more. Restaurants are A Little Slim, Simp Mcgee's, Tim Buck 2 deli shop. They are working on getting more food vendors in for the cruise. If you know of food vendors have them contact me.

The old state bank parking area should be open for photo ops if you so desire. We hope to be able to park in the very middle of the street like Gadsden, but must leave a fire lane. Work with us as this was done on very short notice. Ya'll come. Hope I covered it all.

Angry Not this time
My hours at work got bumped up to 50,
and they want another 10 hours on Saturday
so I don't think I can make this one....
I have to get up at 3:30am and can't stay
up late like I used to.

Might make the Steak and Shake Saturday
even if we just stay an hour or so.

I'll be swinging through (probably) right around 5 or so just to get some photos and then head out. Plan on getting to the nissan meet as well, just have to let my dog run around for a bit.

Bummer. Steak and Shake is always a nice way to end the day if you aren't too exhausted.

Sweet! If it's easier for you to hit the Nissan meet since it's south parkway, I can hit this one so you don't have to rush. Or we can do it vice-versa. No reason for us to both try to hit both for pictures.

As of right now in Downtown Decatur, I see blue skys out of my office window. Hope it stays this way until after this evenings event. Although according to weather.com there may be a slight chance of rain in Decatur between 8 and 9pm. But we are going to take our chance and attend this event. See you all there. Marsha

If it's saying 8-9pm, then there's still going to be plenty of time to enjoy the event and get back home. Personally, I think it will dissipate by then.

For those who want to get the skinny on how to get a good parking spot, find ba king and tell him you are a Hargrove and he will put you in the premier spots!!!! LOL. This is the first one I was able to attend and enjoyed it very much. Thanks Bruce! I will be back.

only reason you got a good spot was that 50$$ you handed me! thanks for coming. keeps growing each month. i REALLY hope the city has the food thing fixed by next month.
