Tire repair

Anybody know of a place they would trust to remove a screw from a tire on a powder coated 19" wheel? Cuevas Customs put the tires on but they charged $50 a wheel to do it. I don't know if they would repair it or not. Freakin Monday is starting great

I haven't used them (yet) but Wheel Fix It is a sponsor on this forum and everybody seems very satisfied with their work. That's the first place I'd go.

When I had a nice 1.5" drywall screw go right into my nice new Continental tires on the Porsche, Wheel Fix-It was the first place I went. Definitely give them a call!

I will run by there after work. I just hope its not to close to the side wall. Is it true they will not fix one that is close to the side?

Also going to see if they will straighten my wheel.

Mine was close to the sidewall, in the last rib. There was a good chance it wasn't going to seal, but at $250/tire, I told them to try. It leaked a bit initially, but as time went on, it seems to be holding air fine now.

yeah, tires can't be fixed on the sidewall. a plug or patch will end up coming out due to tire stretching back and forth because of the weight of the car.

They sent me to Brain's tires. They were super nice but the machine they needed for my wheels is broken. So then I was sent to Bush tires and they got it fixed.

Sorry you had to go all over town, but after this I think next week I am going to get off my wallet and get the kit to plug tires, we havn't really had the demand untill here latley.

Just for some info for me how much did they charge you to plug it?

No big deal. I need to save my pennies and get you guys to straighten one of my wheels. Does matter that mine are powder coated?

$25 and did not re-balance which I now have a shake

I knew I forgot to post some details in here. I was going to mention how they didn't do this in-house butg worked with Brian's Tire just nearby, so you may want to stop in there.

Sorry for leaving this out. Sometimes the 100 things in front of me cause me to forget details. Aging sucks!

It dosnt matter that its powder coated but is the bend on the back of the wheel or on the face?

$25 is what I was thinking of charging but we would re-balance it allso, so once some things calm down I will get right on ordering that stuff and I'll make a post on it!!
