It's okay, I'll cover the show and hopefully you'll be able to check out what you missed during next week.

Yeah, I know. But I do what I can. Besides, work and family comes first! Can't play if you can't pay.

The technology is available to capture the entire show and render it as a fully walkable 'virtual' mock up of the show. But right now, I'd need the computing power of a movie special effects company to get it up in any reasonable amount of time.

U know I just built a pretty bad pc setup. She encodes vids with the quickness. it's no special effects company but I'd be interested to see how long it would take

I forgot what my brother was using, but I took a bunch of pictures of a single car at an event (like 30) during a walkaround and it took about 5 minutes to render it in 3d. But the problem is that the overlap has to be over 50%, so even that many pictures wasn't enough for a good render. You'd need to take 100 pictures per car/area. Basically walking around shooting constantly at however many frames per second. The amount of data would be around 16-32gb to crunch in memory. And the rendering would take more than the 5min*100 cars = ~10hrs+ or so?

What you need ...

They should have a portable turntable at the shows,

Just drive your car on while the camera clicks away as
it rotates.

I saw a neat effect last night- a curtain of water
falling was used as a screen for a hologram.

I still say you need that helicopter that was at SpeakerBox!

I wish I could make it out. I went to this show last year or the year before and had a good time sitting out there.
