yet GM is still leading the way in sales... even being down 8%.... which isn't really a bad thing, they sold A LOT of cars last year because of their rebound

now if you look at Chrysler, yeah, the plug needs to be pulled on it, but that needed to happen 20 years ago

YTD numbers tell a different story.....
GM's YTD % is the same as last year, Ford Gained 5% and Chrysler is up 33%....

so yeah i guess selling the same number or more cars than last year is a bad thing? April wasn't a great month, but a fiscal year is much more important than a single month.

i'd like to say i'm surprised that Mitsubishi has fallen like a rock this year, but i'm not.

Chrysler group went up 20% in April and 33% YTD.... how does the plug need pulled when they sold 20% more cars in April and 33% more this year? i guess selling more cars is bad?

I don't see how Mitsu hasn't canned their auto design team. All of their cars are awful except, of course, the Evo X's.

so Chrysler went from 20,000 cars to 30,000 cars, pop open the champagne??

I was a statistics major in college... charts like that are the most deceiving thing out there... just like in the medical world, you can put up a chart to convince a person of almost anything if you play with the numbers long enough

no need of trying to read between the lines, just look at the big picture when trying to determine the health of a company:

the month of April:

GM sold 200,000+ vehicles

Chrysler didn't break 50,000...

you think they are going to be around much longer selling that many cars? Volkswagen sold more cars...... a company which pretty much uses America as a tax write off, lol

if you believe Chrysler is a healthier company than GM right now or that GM is "struggling"... I got some PRIME ocean front property for you here in North Alabama

I hope Chrysler pulls through, Americans need the Big 3 to be striving, they supply many AMERICAN jobs here in the states... if anyone needs to see what happens to this country when the automotive bottom falls out, see the year 2008

I'm trying to understand here.

One month of sales is not "the big picture".

Chrysler isn't going anywhere. They sell plenty of cars across their brands to stay alive. (NOT saying they are doing better than GM)

that is the Chrysler Brand, not the Chrysler Group. Chysler Group sold over half a million cars.

Yeah the Chrysler brand may be doing very poorly, but Dodge, and Jeep are doing great.

For the first time in my life friends of mine actually want Dodge Cars.
