Looking for either a good exhaust installer or access to a lift...

Installing new axlebacks on my 2012 5.0, found that I can't really get to everything on jackstands...

Any recommendations for a place to go (or a place where I can rent a lift)?

Was looking at Worth Exhaust and Clanton muffler....anybody have any experiences to share or cost estimates?

I went to Worth a couple months ago. My exhaust was hitting my rear axle. They loosened all the clamps from mufflers to headers and readjusted the whole exhaust and aligned my exhaust tips. Took them about 30 mins and cost me 40 bucks. The manager there is a super nice guy too. I will go back to them the next time I need some exhaust work.

I've gone to worth 3-4 times for various things and will keep going back. Good prices and good quality work.

I ran across the same problem a few years ago when installing the Greddy SP cat-back on my Altima. I went to worth and they helped me get it on there. Cost was around the same $30-$40 or something like that.

I've used Clanton and Worth. Worth put a catalytic converter on my 99 S-10, it was reasonably priced and they were quick.

Clanton built the exhaust under my 84 GMC. I did not want the typical giant chrome tips, and he made the tips nearly invisible under the bed sides. It was good enough to be in an art museum. Since the truck was bagged, the tail pipes were cut off. I'll be taking it back to have it redone.

if you ever want to get serious, look to Unlawful Performance in Tuscumbia

Shannon Gibson runs it, and he's had the fastest Cobras in North Alabama, with the timeslips to back it the build he is doing now is looking at about 1500whp

he is a Mustang god, but works on all platforms, he did my headers/catback

he was known here as one of those guys you didn't want to race for years, but now has a business and it gaining a good reputation pretty quickly

I have use both shops with great results every time. I keep going to Worth because the manager always seem to be very fair on price. But Clanton is also very good. It depends on the nature of the work.

Recommending someone else is not advertising. Self-promotion is. Just read the rule if you need clarifications. And feel free to ask questions.

I just had the exhaust done today
OMFG...... it's louder then i thought it would be
i thought it would be so much quieter, went from the original flowmasters to the newer 44's
they are supposed to be quieter and so is an x-pipe, but not on my setup...
gonna have to retune now too

David at Athen's Muffler does awesome work
i thought his name was Brian
he had no problems with me aligning the exhaust and helping
very good welding skills too

I went with another Torque tech exhaust kit
they certainly do make a nice kit

i'll admit it, as soon as we cut the old exhaust out, i looked out and it was getting dark, i certainly was nervous about it raining

anyway i got a chance to look at it tonight
David can really lay a nice bead when he welds
i just cleaned up some spark marks on the hanger clamps, all looks great
Torque tech really does make a nice kit, David was very impressed too

only two places i have trusted before for exhaust work where i lived were the guys at united exhaust shop and Kooks, but i'm a poohr boy so could never afford kooks
Richie at united was AWESOME. have been using him since 86 (yeah i'm old)
my only regret is never taking him up on his offer to work at his shop and race team at Riverhead Raceway
i just didn't have time with my 80+ hour work weeks back then, three jobs and school, etc

yes
and their custom header work and exhaust work were absolutely works of art
seen so many custom setups done by them, very big $$ high end magazine cars
talk about the perfect fitting header for sure
i had a quote to get headers made for my TA and my friend for his 67 GTO, starting at $2000, after seeing their work, if you could afford it, so worth it
that was back in late 90s
ahhh the good ole memories...
i also remember walking into Motion Performance (mid 80s), that was back in my V8 Vega phase
i was a little kid in a candi store with empty pockets

and then of course getting kicked out of Bill Mitchell's shop because i didn't have a BBC
he had some serious mountain motors in there, i just remember seeing pistons that were like the size of bowling balls

Wow crazy! Got any pictures from those days? It would be interesting to see what it was like. I only got into cars in early 2000, so I've missed out on a lot.

No
wish i did
gotta remember these were back in the days even before the internet was around and Ronnie was in charge

damn.... seems like it was yesterday

i remember the first time getting out on Deer Park avenue
packed a bunch of us in my 75 Dodge Tradsman maxivan (you can only gather how many could fit in there, i was the coolest kid in highshcool, despite not having a Chevelle, Nova or Camaro) to see all those awesome rides
tons of 8-71 supercharged cars, prostreeters, etc
then it was shut down and hasn't been the same since (sorta), until the 90s Mustang invasion

we had two big hangouts in the latter years
usually drawing at a minimum of 2500+ cars and bikes
alot of high end big stuff, made me realize just how piss-poohhrr i am
those are another discussion topic
back onto the exhaust topic
