Media Reports: Peugeot Violates Iran Sanctions. UANI: Investigate GM!

http://www.thetruthaboutcars.com/201...m/#more-449475

Quote:
A week ago,Mark D. Wallace, former U.S. Ambassador to the U.N. and CEO of UANI said in an op-ed piece that statements to the effect that Peugeot had stopped shipments of parts to Iran “simply do not jibe with reality,” and that “it is hard not to feel like GM and Peugeot are simply trying to make this controversy go away without making the responsible decision to truly end their business in Iran.”
Quote:
Wallace and UANI called on Senator Carl Levin, chairman of the Armed Services Committee, to hold GM accountable for whom it partners with. Wallace wrote:

“In light of the taxpayer-funded $50 billion bailout of GM and the U.S. Treasury Department’s current 32 percent stake in GM, it is completely unacceptable for GM to be financially aligned with a company that is doing work with a regime responsible for the deaths of U.S. servicemen. The GM-Peugeot partnership seems to run afoul of U.S. sanctions, and it should be investigated.”
http://www.bloomberg.com/article/201...Z2SprLVmg.html

Quote:
In response to UANI, a GM spokesman, Greg Martin, told Agence France-Presse
that Peugeot has "halted its business dealings with Iran." GM also told the
Wall Street Journal that Peugeot had "made the decision to suspend the
production and shipment of material into Iran some time ago."

These would ordinarily be welcome and reassuring statements. However they
simply do not jibe with reality.

According to industry data, in the last year, ending March 19, nearly half a
million Peugeot vehicles were produced in Iran — some 38,000 in the final
month alone. …

and "Peugot is sending cars to Iran.....they support terrorist!!!"...

if that is the case, you might as well close door on GE, Boeing, and several other American companies... of course websites like that or Fox News would never mention those companies

but in all seriousness.....you watch Fox News, don't you...

Not sure about him but yes I do. They have yet to intentionally edit a tape to promote their political propaganda.

Fox News has yet to edit a tape to promote their political views/propaganda? Who tells you this? Someone is lying to you, immensely. ALL news edits their tapes to their needs.

You're right. Violating Iran sanctions = no big deal! How silly to care about such trivial things!

I'd almost SWEAR this article was an old Glen Beck or O'Riley brainstorm... Fox News is an absolute decay for this country

I don't understand why you keep talking about Fox News on this seemingly unrelated thread. You seem a bit obsessed.

Fox news pulls the absolute extreme negatives out and pinpoints them on any issue that could (by any chance) point a finger at the current administration or their affiliates. Half the time or better...they are not true. Occupy Wall Street being the perfect example. Claiming a high percentage were/are unemployed hippies that want anarchism or marxism beliefs when that was a small (very small) percentage.

They are extremists, pretty much.

It's clear that you have no rebuttal to the posted topic, because all your replies have been attempts to change the subject to everything except Peugeot violating Iran sanctions.

So do you have a valid rebuttal or are you just going to continue trolling and responding with unrelated posts? You do realize you're violating forum rules, right?

Helpful reminder: Topic of this thread is Peugeot violating Iran sanctions

Notice his post had nothing to do with the topic at hand, but succeeded in derailing the thread, along with Clint's off topic reply. Both posts are violations, but hey who's keeping score.

Thats the pot calling the kettle black

Besides you cant be held accountable for what someone posts or how they react to a thread. And speaking of obsessed, I think you need to go back and read my first post. Since your concerned with someone attention being to focused on a single subject and all!!

Once again a thread you started goes down this same road. Shocked, really I am

If my posts have violated forum rules, why are they still there? Guess your opinion is incorrect.

The replies on this thread, however, are clear trolling replies meant to derail a thread about a company the trolls happen to like.

So do you have a valid rebuttal or are you just going to continue trolling and responding with unrelated posts?

No reason to be shocked, considering it was yours and SSR's troll posts that did it. That's a clear violation of forum rules.

Your thread is the violation. Our posts of your trolling are a reaction to your action.

No doubt that you post these threads to stir everybody up. That's the violation. And my post was relivent to this thread. It simply showed you past posts so other people would have a better idea of what ledge you stand on

I mean you wouldn't want someone to think your unbiased and impartial when your not would you. I'd rather be hated for who I am, than loved for who I'm not

So you support closing businesses that have dealings with Iran? Or you just have a problem with anything that can trace its way back to GM?
