Tiger McKee's Mustang in SuperFord mag

As mentioned in "Car Stories" post #98, I finally found the old Super Ford magazine issue that had it on the cover. The full scans of the article are here:

Here are some smaller shots:

Is the car still around? I would like to see this in person. I am not a big fan of the 74-76's but decked out like that I could change my mind very quickly.

Yeah right! I've been up since 9am! Noon is for days when my body just says "no".

That's an awesome car. I've wanted to know more about it since the smaller picture was posted of it. Cool that it made it into a magazine. There's still Mustangs around here that end up in magazines, so I guess the good things never change.

I followed him to the Street Machine Nationals one year and remember some people gawking at his car while we were in traffic and not paying attention and they ran into the back of someone else's car. Did a few thousand dollars worth of damage to their Camaro.

If I could remember when he had the car I could tell where we were at. He had no windows in the car so when it rained he would downshift the Richmond 5 sp. and head for an overpass. I also remember he carried cans of octane boost with him for when he filled up.

If I'd have looked at the magazine cover I'd of had the date. 1984, I think we went to Sprinfield, Mo. that year.

I remember this car running a friend of mine on Martin road back in the early 80's. It was a very quick car. My friend had a 63 or 64 dodge dart with 500 plus cube mopar wedge and Tiger beat him in the 1/4 by about 2 cars. There were probably 2 to 3000 people watching the racing going on then. Another friend of mine bought Tiger's car a few years later but he could not get it to run like Tiger could.

do you know where the car is now or what became of it? Earl Duckett in New Hope built it and would be interested in at least knowing its whereabouts. Tiger worked with Earl on his funny car at the time the Mustang was built.

Call Tim Davis at City Diesel in Decatur, AL 256-350-5160 he is the last person that I know who owned the car. That has been like in 1985 or so. Been a long time ago as cars go.

I was there - I seem to remember the Dart coming in on a trailer? Was it orange and blue?
