Very true, We take a trip to Cali every year and you see every type of car possible, Anywhere from lifted trucks to lowriders. That pic of the 1970 Camaro reminds me a a little surf shop in Pismo.

Is that where you are getting your new DD?

Find something unusual or vintage to take a picture of.
Maybe something with a surfboard! It's been in the 80's
in the LA area lately.

So it ended up working out BUT I was not allowed to take photos inside Jay Leno's Garage!!! It was one of the coolest experiences ever and he's got some AMAZING autos. Here's what pics I did get from my trip
Yellow 355 on Vandenberg Airforce Base

Gate to Leno's Garage
[/img]

Leno's buildings on the left and right. Left side has his machine shop, martha stewart kitchen with emmy above the sink, some of the shop workers cars as they can work on their own stuff after hours/weekends, the rocket car, cars he's currently restoring, and his steam engine cars. The one on the Right has several rooms when you first walk in you are in his exotics and supercars. Go to the room on the left and there are his older cars and the tank car, go through that room then turn right and you're in a room with Buggatis lining one side (including an older 30s model that was one of 3 and Leno paid either 32 or 34 million for in unrestored condition) On the other side of the room are about 100 motorcycles including the y2k rocket powered bike. Turn left into yet another room and you are in his Muscle car room. A couple shop workers cars then a new camaro then a prototype c6 Z06. Next to that is a charcoal grey ZR1 that is serial number 1, next to that is a Twin turbo c6 z06 by some company I couldnt remember but there were 2 made and it will go well over 200mph. Next to it is a Viper that looks like Sasafras's and next to it is a yellow viper from the first year they were made serial number 6. There were a few other 10 second quarter mile cars. Going from the muscle car room through the buggati room you come to a room with about 100 more motorcycles and a shelby gt 350, original 427 shelby cobra, and several other older cars including one that's basically a horseless carriage with no steering wheel (has a lever that you move to turn the wheels and it'll go 20 mph). Through that room you go back into the exotics room that you initially come into. It's got 2 Lamborghini Miruas and a countach, a ferrari 308, a swiss car that used ferrari 328 parts, mclaren f1, lotus elan, ariel atom, mclaren mp412c, and some others.

Bob, jay's garage manager and friend, gave us a tour so I thanked him as we left and he told me to come back anytime. Everyone was super friendly and It was something I'll always remember. After we left the garage we walked back around to the property behind Leno's and who's owner was the person who got me into Leno's garage. The place is called Studio Picture Vehicles and they rent prop cars out to movies and tv shows. here's some of the pics I took there

Car from Inspector gadget

Mystery Machine from Scooby Doo

One of the Dukes of Hazard Chargers signed by bo duke

A VR4 with 1900 original miles

2 police cars from the End of Watch movie and also used in the TV show southland

On hollywood blvd

Sitting at the hotel in LA i got a message from the guy and his son who've been making carbon fiber lotus parts and they offer to come scoop me up and show me their shop. here's one of his Lotus Elises

custom lotus front clam

Custom rear clams

Supercharged lotus motor and a vw engine

25+ lb stock elise trunk lid and sub 4lb CF elise trunk lid

So Yeah...I had a pretty nice work trip out to California last week

dude! You win.

You saw a much better collection than I did.
So how many BILLIONS do you think the
Leno collection is worth? I wonder how many of them
he actually gets out the door and drives.

Do you bring any Lotus parts back in your luggage?

Every one of Lenos cars can be and are driven. Even his steam engine cars can be ready to drive in 30 min or less (except for one which takes 3 hrs to get it ready to drive). He had just driven one of his 30s model cars the day before to his studio to show it to someone. From what the guy who owns studio vehicles said Leno is there every day. His wife calls the place his real home. He's got a huge machine shop in there complete with a giant steam engine that's used to get his steam engine cars up and running faster and since you can't really buy parts for a 1906 stanley steamer with that huge shop he can make his own new parts.

I actually did come back with some lotus parts though it wasnt anything special just 6 black anodized titanium bolts for the CF fuel door those guys made me.

I highly doubt it's worth a billion. Cool pics. I would like to see it in person.

Not over a Billion but I'd say there was over 100 Million in there.
I doubt I'll ever see a more impressive collection in person unless somehow I get a connection to the Sultan of Brunei
