Traded in the G8 today

I have always said that as soon as I found a CTS-V in my price range the G8 would go bye-bye, especially now that I no longer have the LOVELY 65-mile each way commute that I had when I was still in MS. So I started half-way looking for one when I got to Huntsville, and after we got our house and all that I really was able to see what I could and could not afford, and luckily I found one in Decatur that was the right price, so I brought it home today. It's an 09 6AT with nav, ultraview roof, pretty much all the bells and whistles except for Recaros.

No real plans for mods, it is plenty fast as it sits. I did black out the fender vents and the chrome strip above the tag in the rear just because I didn't like the looks of them, but I think that's about it.

Thanks! Definitely need to get out to the next detail clinic and learn some tips on how to keep her shiny! Never owned a black car before.

Len, I'm the guy from the hotel that referred the guy with the Ram to you - did he ever get back in touch with you?

I don't have to be having a clinic to talk cars. Just give me a call any time. One thing to remember about a black car, it's not a hobby it's a career. If you have time this Saturday I'll be doing a wash, clay, and wax on a SRT Jeep from 9 until around 1.

Take a look at my website and the 2 black Mustangs I recently polished. I know this sounds weird but I was suppose to be doing an 09 black CTS-V this week but the owner postponed because of a family emergency.

Thanks for the referral but I never heard from him. I was out of town and didn't return until Friday.

Cool! I have to take my wife's SUV over to Decatur to pick up my wheels from the G8 from the dealership Saturday morning but ill swing by another time.

I need to come see you for some Adam's products anyway. Do you keep stuff in stock? I need a gallon of waterless wash.

Yes, I keep all the Adams in stock. If I get the truck polished out I may try and make it to the cruise in at Hardees. My wife leaves going out of town Saturday so I'm a single dad for the next 5 days.

Nice! Stock or modded? I'd love to meet some other V owners. I know there is someone with a white one that must eat breakfast at Chick Fil A in Madison every morning... I stop there on my way to work a lot and always see it there.

I see the white V in Madison all the time. I met a guy that has a black Vagon.
I also seen a black V coupe in Madison. Mine only has an CAI and B&B exhaust now. Once my work schedule slows down and I plan on maybe going to Memphis for an upper pulley, Eibachs, maybe a heat exchanger and tune. I'd like to get to 500-530 rwhp but this thing is really fast enough stock.

Dqw - I'd love to hear your exhaust. I found out today that mine has a K&N drop in. Doubt it's good for much performance wise. I'm pretty happy with the power stock though.

A_Cryer I paid a little over 41k, but it has really low miles (17,xxx) so it's entirely possible that there are cheaper ounces out there. This one is immaculate though, looked brand new.

I never realized how many Vs we have in town. I'm going to start looking out for them more closely now. They're so hard to spot considering the regular ones looks so similar.

I've seen the black wagon a few times and once had the pleasure of following behind him as we were on the same road for a while. I think I know the owner of the black coupe if that one is brand new or less than a year old.

Biggest giveaway is the hood and front bumper. The regular CTS does not have the big bulge in the middle of the hood and the front bumper is higher and narrower.

Yep, that hood and bumper definitely give it away. From the rear, I just look for the meats.

Anytime, let me know. The B&B has a nice rumble at idle and it pretty loud when you punch it. Fitment is not so good. A lot guys are installing Corsa mufflers or a Stainless Works catback.
