RIP Henry "Shorty" Parkerson

http://www.decaturdaily.com/stories/...ccident,122179

Shorty passed away in a car accident on Tuesday, 6/18/2013. He was always a HUGE part of the local car scene and will be greatly missed.

He had just come by the new store to check it out a few weeks ago.

Defiantly one of the nicest people I've had the pleasure of knowing. He was one of the first people I met when I first moved to Huntsville. He was always upbeat and had a smile on his face. If anyone hears about funeral arrangements please post them. I'll be following Facebook and will update if I see anything.

Such sad news. Shorty may have gotten the nickname because of his height, but it definitely didn't describe his heart or spirit. I saw him literally weekend-after-weekend, year-after-year with that always half-laughing smile and an open heart for fellow enthusiasts and the scene in general. He was one of the most positive people in the scene, and I almost can't remember what his mouth looked like closed because he always had a real, genuine ear-to-ear smile on his face. And from what everyone else has posted about him, a lot of us are going to miss that about him.

He had moved away a few years back, and had just moved back to the area the last time I bumped into him. I was really looking forward to seeing him back in the scene like the 'good old days'.

RIP my friend. I know heaven knew it was you because they could see the blue neons coming closer.
