Sheet metal locally?

Does anyone know where I could find a piece of sheet metal to fix a rusted spot? It's below my battery tray and part of the inner fender structure. I got a couple friends with welders but no idea where you would get the metal stock. I looked in the phone book but it's more fab places than metal supply.
