Tinting... again

I've searched, of course, but wanted to get an up-to-date opinion on window tint providers in the area.

This is all new to me. I started to read up on the different types available, but damn, it is a lot of stuff to digest.

So who currently (Jan 2014) provides a high quality, reasonable cost service around Madison / Huntsville?

Which material do you prefer?

What is a reasonable cost? Back and side windows on a 4 door car. I may get two cars done, if I can convince the wife that hers would look good :-)

Many owners of my car (Evo X) fit a sticky backed fur strip to the window rubbers before tinting. I am not sure this is a good thing as some owners report that the glue comes off and streaks.

I checked the laws and found that 32% on a car is as dark as you can go on sides and back of a car, with a max of 6 inches of "Transparent" material at the top of the screen. I am not sure either that darker is better. Nighttime visibility does worry me. What are your experiences?

From the Al DOT site...

http://dps.alabama.gov/Home/wfConten...mation-TintLaw

Passenger Cars and Station Wagons
ONLY the upper six inches of the front windshield may be tinted.
(MATERAL APPLIED MUST BE TRANSPARENT)
ALL OTHER windows (sides and rear) may have tinting that allows
at least 32% light transmission with a 3% tolerance.
Reflective material may not reflect more than 20% of light.

Formula One Tint by the speakerbox. Give them a call they have several different options and can educate you on the differences much better then I could.

As for darkness. I run 20% on my vette and truck. My wife's has 35% but I think we are going to redo it and do 20% on the side glasses and leave 35% on the back. Visibility isn't an issue and it's not dark enough I've ever been bothered.........famous last words.

I agree with EvilZ. Go with Speakerbox or 1-Day Tint. I've got 30% on the sides/back of mine and don't have issues with visibility either. I slightly regret not going with 20%.
