Any interest in an early Corvette Club

Most of the Corvette clubs around here cater more to the C5 and later cars and have VERY few C1-C4 car owners as members. I know there are several C1-C4 owners in the area and was wondering if any were on HCS and would be intersted in forming a club/group/whatever that catered mainly to the earlier Corvettes?

Thoughts? Anyone interested can contact me and we can discuss.

I know several of the guys that are in vette's with vette's have older ones as well but just choose to drive the later models because they get better gas milage and are more comfortable.

I would have loved to had a classic Corvette club when I had the '80 and '81 Vettes. If anyone forms one in our area, I just may have to search out that '59 that I have always wanted!!! Marsha

Well my experience with the various Corvette clubs is that C4 and older Corvettes are basically left out and even get the feeling that they aren't that welcomed thus why I would like a classic Corvette club started.

Let's be honest - other than the name, a C4 or later has very little in common with a C4 and earlier and many of the C5 and later drivers aren't really that much into cars as they are into owning a Corvette.

I beg to differ. I would totally own a C1 or 2 with a C5 frame and a LS3 or LS7. It's hard to beat 550+ rwhp and 25-26 mpg on the highway, while stopping on a dime, and pulling over 1G on the skid pad. I'm a fan of performance and let's be serious the early vette's just don't cut it by today's standards. I didn't buy a vette because of the name I bought one because it was HANDS DOWN the most car for the money.

If you were interested in doing this Henry Younger would be the guy to talk to.

Thus why i said "many" - there are exceptions but many of the C5 and later folks bought those cars as mid life crisis cars and really know little about them or Corvettes as a whole. Nothing wrong with that - just not my cup of tea. I am a car guy and liek to talk cars - several of the later model Corvette owners I talekd with didn't even know the sepcs of their own Vettes.
